I use the traditional brown Dettol and it works wonders.
I usually have two tubs, one where the models spend a few days/weeks soaking (though I have left some plastic and metal in a small tub for over a year and no adverse effects have occurred). I then do the majority of cleaning in this first tub with a toothbrush after that they go in a second tub to give them another quick rinse and clean in some cleaner stuff. Finally another quick soak and rinse in some warm soapy warm before another scrub to get any residue off.

Hi!

Same here. Left it for two weeks. Nothing.

Easy off heavy duty oven spray. No other substance I tested bests it.

So I'd just like to thank everyone in this thread for recommending this stuff. I found some stuff that looked Dettol coloured lying around the house (they don't sell dettol in my country) and figured what the heck.

Well, first off I popped two 6mm squats in and closed the container. After typing up my post in the netEPIC topic section I decided to check things out. All that I could see was a stain that was roughly the colour of the painted squats. A weird grey blue stain. I was a little disappointed, but whatever. I then tried to see if I could get the remaining lumps out of the container, and somehow at the other end of the container were the two models. No ill effects. They're not fully cleaned, but they were caked with paint, and now I can see some detail. Very good results. Does it work on metal?
