Again a doubt that came up during yesterdays game, hoping someone can clarify.

During an assault, when a formation giving fire support gets to fire, do we allocate the hits closest to furthest measuring from the unit giving the fire support, or from the unit doing the actual assault?

Hits are allocated to the appropriate units nearest to whoever is attacking/support firing etc.

Also, support hits may only be allocated to units that participated in the assault (ie they used their CC or FF).

That's a little rule that was in the errata but never made it into the PDFs from GW's site. It's in the tournament pack though.

I assume that units giving fire support can only alocate hits to units within 15 centimeters?

That's correct, and to reiterate, only to units which directly took park in the engagement
