Thanks for the video, the tanks look really nice, really crisp details.
Nice to hear a bit of tomahawk this early in the morning too!

Ha! Nice to know I'm not the only Tomahawk fan out there! Glad you liked it Rex!

Can anyone give me any advice about whether to use black or white undercoat spray paint before painting these silver? Would it make any difference whatsoever?

In general, yes. White undercoats generally tend to make the base coats "brighter". Of course what you do subsequently has a huge effect on the outcome (weathering, washes, dry brushes, etc). One fun trick with back undercoats is that you can move to drybrushing the silver directly on it, no basecoating, to give some nice dark shadows for basically free! ;D

Ah! Sounds like a plan! I'll give spraying them black a go!

Cheers Jimmy! ;)

Heh! I panicked! I was looking at the detail on the tanks and got too worried that I'd struggled to see what I was doing if I sprayed them black! As Metallica would say, "sad but true".

I've started with the smallest minis so hopefully I'll have a few finished tanks by the end of the weekend.

Nice b1 bis tanks. A little too rounded shapes perhaps, but very nice none the less.

Is there a size comparison anywhere?

Not yet, but this is on my to do list. Rather than doing things unit by unit I'll probably do size comparisons once I finish painting up the whole army.

Some progress on painting the Marhaf.

First of all here's the 3 Phestorm variants.

And here's the 2 Typhark (light tank) variants and the Leehawk hoverjets.

Back to the painting desk now...

Those really are neat tanks. How awesome would it to be to convert some up as Hunter-Killers from The Terminator? :)

I think onyx sprayed a silver on some of his miniatures to get the extra work out of the way, his iron warriors I believe. But I would do a white base myself.
