27 pounds for a single miniature is outrageous, he looks amazing but i would never spend that kind of money on this guy.

I hope not! That is outrageous! I'm sure many of us here remember the days when we used to pick an Epic army box for a tenner! No wonder they are in trouble, who has money to burn like this? I have no idea how they expect teenagers to get into the hobby unless they are hoping parents think it is healthier - although more expensive - than their little loved ones developing a crack habit!

No probably not, but I know many people who would, and have!

I have spent similar ridiculous amounts of money on OOP epic minis though.

I guess the moral to the story is that everyone has that one thing in which they are willing to "break the bank".

While I agree that prices on some things out there border on the excessive (as well as ridiculous), you never know how much your willing to spend until that one things shows up...

Yes, but... The stuff we're trying to buy is no longer in production so we're at the mercy of filthy individuals taking advantage of the inequitous capitalist system. Whereas In the example above, it's a company doing the same thing. Companies exist to make profit, of course, but economies of scale should mean that they don't have to rip off their consumer base.

On a more serious note I suppose they're styling themselves as a luxury goods producer. Part of what makes (or should make, according to them) you want to buy it is that your mates will know what you paid for it.

Jesus! That's never been a concern of mine! Rather than thinking "wow, he's paid for top quality there", I could imagine thinking "you paid how much for that?! Are you out of your mother loving mind?!" I thought that about myself with the aforementioned CI and Cyclops...
