In modern spearhead the air rules are quite similar (surprise!) to Legion's.

Only HQs and Air to Ground Controllers may call in airstrikes.
1) A spotting attempt is made
2) The spotter tries to call in the airstrike
3) The planes are placed to attack position annd are assumed to have flown there by the most direct route from their own table edge. Tac support planes get one template while Ground attack planes get two.
4) Before the attack is made the planes are attacked by any AA in range. Even if the AA misses the air attack gets a negative modifier. If the aircraft is equipped with self guided (smart) weapons the AA has a negative to-hit modifier as said weapons reduce exposure time to AA weapons.

Glad to hear it as that was our intent !  We use a "hybrid" system using rules from many sources and all Epic releases.  We do swear by the SM1 templates for most armies, the Off Board Support Rules, and the AT1/SM1 Mission Generation System, among others ...  :D   And we started using "activation" like E:A does with SM1 in '90.  It seems to be the way to go !    :;):

yes it will be available on gamesday UK so I will have to reserve some....

I also like the new 40k eldar titan which was also making an appearance in epic scale on the fanatic site.   I was hoping to more epic bits would be available but that might come later on in the year. Maybe the FW seminar will shed some light on whats coming up:)
