Hello all,

As a newcomer to all things "netepic", and getting hold of the rules, i have to say im mightily impressed with the book. So much so that a digital copy, while nice, just isnt enough for me.

So, what are the options? First off i considered printing it out and putting it into a folder. The downside to this is that its printed in landscape. Also ink intensive.

So what i have done is sent the file to a professional printing company, made my own cover etc and had it printed properly in a softback format. There were a few slight problems however, firstly being the paper size. Why o why dont we all just have a standard paper size? why on earth do we in the UK have A4, and in the US you guys have letter size. Bloody pain in the bum. We should agree a papersize! i dont really care which...

Anyway, with that sorted the next issue was the cover. If i made the front page the cover, it messed up the page order...Grrr So some searching later i found the netepic front cover, but no back cover so i used a different one.

The order has been sent this morning, and i should have the book in a week or so, ill update you all with the final product when i get it.

Oh, heres a link to the printing company I used - http://www.doxdirect.com/

I paid £21.00 for the book.

Steve

Basically everyone except the US uses A4.

I just googled net epic and took the images from there. Also the covers are on boardgamegeek -

What we need now is an army book cover, as i plan to get all the army lists put in a book too.... :geek

Hi!

Wow! That looks real nice!

I haven't really sat down to print one for myself. Mainly because I knew I wanted to look for errata or maybe make a "platinum" version, but this really makes me want to print one.

What services would you use in the US to print such a book?

I think you can simply take a cd or flash drive to Kinkos and have them print it.

Looks good, yorkie, but I'm more inclined to have it spiral bound so the book will lie flat.

Hi!

Oopps, I wasn't being clear. :-[

I meant a professionally printed book like say the old AT books or the more recent EA books.

Or does kinkos do that too?

I don't think they do binding like E:A books, but they might do an AT-style book.

I would like a book that not only lies flat, but also folds in half.

Hi!

In know some pro publishers do ringed binders too. Its been a few years since I looked into it.

However once I get this done, I'm definitely getting some printed. :)

Your right, if I were to do it again, say for net epic evolution (sounds much better than platinum :P ) I would get it spiral bound so it lies flat, also (for those in the UK) you can merge as many PDF's as you like into 1 book, so i would also add all the army books too.

The cover isnt great also, as i tried to be clever and cut off a bit, so it doesnt say "core Rulebook" the result is that the cover image is slightly blurry and pixleated. :{[] Still a great service though, and my fault, not the publishers.

I have no idea what services are available in the US sorry, although im sure they exist.

I dunno about the US, but in the UK most high-street print shops would to ring/comb/spiral binding and it should be very cheap (it's effectively a massive hole punch and some claws that open the comb piece and then pop it in, about 30 seconds!), Staples, Mail Boxes etc. etc would all do it.

If you're in a university town look into where the students get their formal dissertation copies bound, bound (heh) to be somewhere about that will do soft and hard back binding (significantly more expensive than comb binding) for them. Should also be services online where you just send them a pdf and they mail you the book. Or you can do it yourself – perfect binding is DIYable if you have a pot of PVA and something to weight/clamp the block of pages in.
