So, i am still busy with different projects at the moment but i will post some more spacefrog artwork soon. This time a little bit more refined.

I am also thinking about a BFG fleet for them. As this is still my main system i play. Togehter with an armylist i am planning to build some 3D kits for printing through shapeways. As i love extensive preproduction this will take some time.
I also thinking about waiting for the first models from deacon to get a matching style. I will open a seperate thread for this when the first concepts are done.

Hi!

We await with enthusiasm your artwork! :)

To be fair this is only a coloration test of the headsketch i posted some time ago. Maybe i should explain the process. As a designer the most important thing is the shape and contour of a 3-dimensional design. Espacially in this scale. What I am searching for at the moment is a distinctive form wich says "frog", "SciFI" and "my purpose is" in miliseconds. This is not easy as nearly all of our brains are filled with countless images from movies, games and other stuff. But this helps also big time.

Long story short, this is not a final design just an experiment to find a shape that transports the infomation i want.
And in this matter Deacon has always the last word. :D I am just acting as a muse.

By the way, that's not a knock. Mordin was one of my all time favorite characters. :)

None taken. XD I am surprised, I sound really aggressive. :o Maybe because I'm german :D
Actually, i think I was in "Client mode". That happens sometimes if i feel something needs further explanation. Anyway! More sketches:

Found this one in a sketchbook of my wife. Coloured by her and scribbled by myself. I am still working on the more refined artworks. But I am slow at the moment, sry :P

Hmm,

I'm also convinced that the Slann units would be very concerned with personal safty, not to eager to get down and dirty, leaving that to their lesser kindred - the dracons. They would stay back and apply technical superior wargear to support their frontline pawns. ...

Drones are hot in current modern warfare. So why not plug the scarce frogheads into cabled machines, and let their wifi connected drones fight for them? So it would be forgmen in the back of the army, under large force field generators, and the drones (or robots) fighting at the front ...

Just an idea ...

Edit: Now that I'm thinking of it, frogs are born in little small bulbs. "Dril" in Dutch ... You could incorporate these spheres into the designs. Bio-matter forcefields.

If you've seen the movie The Avengers, there's an alien race arriving in some kind of fish-snake spaceship that flies through the air. This would suit an advanced frogmen race very well. Hovering, skimmering vehicles that look like fish or worms or snakes ... (Remeber Maya legends - the winged serpent ...)

I LIKE both these ideas (o:

The star vampires from another company once "tricked" the necro dudes into their metalic bodies. And so these necro dudes became terminators like Arnold S.

The space frogs were equally old. So they use the same idea. Wifi connections with their robot army, but not actually inhabiting the robots. This remote controlled army of the frogmen could be translated in a game op E40K very well. Instead of choosing a new HQ when the detachment loses it's leader (frogman), no new HQ can be choosen. Leaving the robots standing still on the battlefield ...
