Love the Lancastrian. Still not convinced about the other two.

The Hog seems a bit too much. Loads of concepts here. Feels more like a Ju 388 or this, but with gull wings.

The Supermarine is still a bit too spitfire-with-stuff-on-it. I think you need to kill your darling a bit more before it is truly funky. Beefing the exhausts up and changing the design of the nose intake will give it an outline different from the original, but will also grant it more of an identity of its own.

Too round. While I really dug the shape for the bomber it just doesn't feel right on the ground attack flyer. Blockier shapes suggest toughness un GrimDark. Basically it's too pretty :)

I'd go for a wider chassis and angled stabilizers. It'll keep the visual similarity but give it some distinctiveness.

I don't want to go too angular on the hull because IP.

Understand about that, this design does fit nicely alongside the bomber. Now how about a skinnerz bomber. :)

Got to agree. Not so keen on this one so far. Body and wings look like parts from different kits, wings a bit cramped and the cockpit looks too big. Can't workout why it looks ok on the bomber...?

Anyway, what it really needs for the iconic A10 look is a couple of F' off jets half way down the body :

And can a company really copyright "un-areodynimic aircraft" or "flying brick" ?? Would they want to ? :D

No but they can make life annoying for Ben and can be a PitA until as Todd puts it, "his lawyers shiv Grandma Wendy", legally speaking that is. I can totally understand the reasoning.

There's a couple of things that can be modified or appended that could handle both look and IP issues at the same time:

A. Ditch inverse gull-wing and straight up do grim-darked version of an A10. This is nice as that plane is Teh Sexay of all things ground attack related and no one can claim a likeness. (see shiv above)

B. Append a design change with real-life inspiration. This would visually distance it from any claims of likeness from a particular 28mm scale ground attack flyer from a well known miniatures company. In this suggestion I'd go with the inspiration of the twin booms found on the P38 Lightning which turned out to be one of the most effective ground attack fighters of all time (IIRC the Germans referred to it as "the twin devil" and the Japanese as "two planes, one pilot" both for the shape and the difficulty in shooting them down). Take the awesome gull wings and engines but ditch the tail and use the twin boom. You're channeling the the futureized b@stard offspring of the P38 and F4 then and anyone that takes issue can F-off.

Probably because we're used to seeing those iconic WW2 bombers with the glass canopies. I personally think it is less the shape of the canopy vs the size relative to the fuselage. I think if it was shrunk lengthwise it'd look better.

I hadn't got the likeness till Jimmy's post - thought you were going A10 all the way. I never liked that other one and imho i think option A[10] would be better anyway.

Just make sure the engines give the proper Micky Mouse silhouette (and watch out for Walt's lawyers ! ;) )

Yup. Add a little tech griblies on the fuselage behind the cockpit and we're good :)

Excellent, sounds like this one has had its basic design cracked!
