Ok, here's a perfectly horrible picture of some of the early stuff. First thing I painted was the little nid terrain bit, followed by the spore, and then the termigaunt and marine.

You just don't know what bad really looks like...! :D

Agreed! I'm not for sharing pics of some of the Space Hulk minis I painted as a teenager! They stink like a dead badger's rectal cavity.

A quick weekend update. I'd like to preface this by saying that this post probably wouldn't have happened without the help in acquiring models needed from Apoc and Elsmore. There will be an update here soonish to the AdMech list that will include the shot for the rapiers and a few other missing images.

After these I've got a few odds and ends to finish on a second of Todd's planetary defense batteries. That should be finished Monday and then it's back to blood ravens. Enjoy!

Mate,

Very nice looking rapiers there, looks like some converting went on as well. Think it's time we saw a group shot of your ADMECH progress. :)

Cheers
Aaron

Thanks, but no conversions were done on the rapiers. These are straight as cast. Perhaps I'll dig out the whole army sometime. I still need to get a majoris done for the list sometime. So much to get done and so little time left to do full army shots! I had a close up requested on another forum, so I figured I'd go ahead and attach it here. This is the left most rapier in the shots above:

Contrast is something I nearly always struggle with. It killed the whites on the mechs earlier and I that's just hte latest. Most of the time I don't advocate the "french" style blend to solid white. I prefer a bit more color than the washed out look that technique gives although the chiaroscuro does make for nice visual pop on the models.

Today I finished up the second of the Ordinatus models. This one done in soviet green and red instead of the grays of the first. Turned out decently well. Now back to blood ravens. :)

Mate,

Simply awesome work, I am sure the Soviet Union would have been proud to have this in their arsenal during the Cold War. Will this appear in Epicomp this year?

Cheers
Aaron

wow, yet more fantastic work!

love the scheme on this, the higlighting really makes the red 'glow' and the windows are just fantastic

not sure which one I prefer, as I really fell in love with the previous one, I'm of course happy with either, so if you want to stick it in a parcel and I can PM you my address.... ;)
