I'm running an Infinity intro day and tournament all weekend so these aren't going to get any paint near them until next week at the earliest.

As far as requiring a lot of work is concerned, which bit? Building up the bases needs to be done regardless, or the 1mm+ lip of the integral bases on the models will show.

So you've got a layer of sandy paste, a layer of plasticine then another layer of sandy paste? That first layer was just a test right or am I missing something?

Looking good though!

Ah, I see where the confusion comes from! The photos are slightly out of order - it's just Plasticine straight on to the base and then a layer of Sandy Paste over the top.

Just realised I've missed a few updates here, the Plaguereaper concept has gone through a few changes and a second is being worked on as well.

Anyway, it looks like my local club is running a joint Apoc/Epic day at the end of .august so that's an earlier deadline to get some paint on models...

Plagereaper mock-up 2:

I'm not sure where the bit on the end of the turret cam from, but it's going to be used on both Plaguereapers as I managed to find two of them. :) The gun barrel is from a Gorkamorka-era Ork Warbike.

Here's version one with the same barrel-end:

Also, a mini-batrep using the new version of the DG list: http://wargamingtrader.com/learning-you ... ic-edition

That bit on the end of the gun is from a Blood Angels dreadnought's Magna-Grapple :)

Probably not on the Plaguereapers, but I'm leaning towards the Defilers being GZG spiderbot legs crowned by a ring of tentacles with a little gun turret on top.

Progress! A bunch of magnetised 'zombies' and Death Guard, although I may have to find some slightly rubbery paint to go on the undersides of the ply bases as they slide around too easily on metal surfaces:

Zenith-undercoated objectives:

Undercoated Plague Bearer and 'zombies':

I've also appropriated a trashed and badly stripped Baneblade with no turrets for the start of a third Plaguereaper.

In the meantime, some shots of a game from Tuesday, with way too many Orks! Although the big punch-up in the middle went to even odds by the time it got to the combat resolution...

Stupidly, I had the second Death Guard Retinue a few cm out of coherency range of the Supreme Commander retinue in the middle - instead of assaulting with the DG, summoned deamons and newly-arrived zombies it could have been two DG retinues, two lots of summoned daemons and the zombies! Oops.
