I was choosing weapons for my Titans this morning and as usual never took any Plasma weapons. I've had an aversion to these weapons since day one of Adeptus Titanicus, but I was wondering if anyone does use them, and think they are any good?

I don't really use titans but I've looked into weapon combos a few times for that theoretical mechanicus army and I would never use the Plasma Destructor, I don't see the usefulness in crippling yourself with it.

I would possibly take the plasma cannon on a Warlord that was otherwise decked out with CC weapons.

The high cost and additional negative effects put me off.
There was a similar discussion a few months ago. Which evolved into one of the guys talking about using a plasma counter system like Emporator Titans for moving and shooting.

Oh, sorry, must have forgotten about that thread. Sorry for duplicating! Anyway, think they're pretty guff!

Plasma Blastguns are evil when used correctly. I've lost so many Eldar and Chaos vehicles, and super heavies, over the years to Warhounds equipped with Plasma Blastguns that it's not funny. They are very dangerous in the hands of a canny opponent.

Hi!

No doubt. That's why I decided to make the alternate rules on the other thread. Plasma cannons and destructors are supposed to be BETTER than the blastgun, but aren't. The blastgun is supposed to be the short ranged "poor mans" plasma weapon, suited for warhounds hunting super heavies and other tough targets and like you I have seen them reap utter destruction over the years.

I just wanted other plasma weapons to be equally feared and more importantly worth the points. I think the alternate rules will stimulate more use of them, although they are still expensive and use lots of plasma.

Since we started with SM/TL we ignore the rule, that you can mount plasma weapons and one.shoot missiles ONLY at the capreaces top
So I have some Titans equipped with 3 one-shoot missiles and one Plasma destructor.
I never chosse the plasma cannon but the plasma blastgun is a choice.

It´s just my way
