@Reedar - I was intending to rock up with my brand new an shiny nercon force, but I haven't been able to get it all ready in time - so next year will be their year. :)
In the meantime, yes I will be rocking out the Imperial Titans again - Peace an' love through superior firepower, yo. ^^
-Although no Emperor Titans this year. Aawww....

A bring and buy at lunchtime would be grand :-)

Myself and Reedar are taking the terrain down there this evening so any of the Bristol lot need to note that there are no cars going from our end; hop on the train for £10.50 return; I may see you on there!

I've got 12 confirmed entrants thus far so we'll have a quiet chilled one I reckon; lack of numbers can be blamed on me not getting this sorted earlier and not having the time to publcise and make it a bit more special; but, ce la vie, it's gonna be fun anyway I reckon! Remember tickets can be purchased right up until the day too so people should feel free to just turn up too if they wish :)

Lucky 6's!
Ryan

Can't make it. Week's too tiring to wake up at 5 am on a Saturday. Lame, I know.

Just sent out the following email to you all 16 players! Fab!

"Dear Winter Warmer Ticket Holders,

Firstly a BIG thanks to you all for purchasing a ticket for the event at Triple Helix Wargames, this Saturday the 19th of January, 2013. This is the 4th Winter Warmer that we've held now and without people's enthusiasm for the event and your continuing attendance it simply wouldn't happen. I look forwards to seeing you all in person again :-).

Secondly could I just ask anyone who has also purchased tickets for another person to pass this email along to them as I don't have their contact details.

So far we have 16 confirmed entrants which is a comfortable number to keep us all playing and we may well see some additional last minute attendees too. Whilst I've received a couple of (interesting!) army lists just to note that there is no need to submit a list to me for this event. Please just bring a duplicate copy of the list you will be using to the event, one for me to glance over and one to show your opponents. The Traitor Legion Army Forge site is the perfect tool for creating clear, legible, army lists for many armies out there.

Winter Warmer is pleased to be able to use Epic UK's 3 Day Tournament Rules so please do head over to their excellent website, download and read the rules pack, and make sure to check out all the other Epic Events that are happening this year! One thing that is worth noting is that I run the event on a 'bye' ruling if we have an uneven number of players. In this case once each round I will ask one player to volunteer to miss a game for a full 32 point victory score; if no one wishes to take the offer up then either I will sit out or a random player will be selected.

Finally here's the timetable for the event:

0900hrs: Arrive and Register
0930hrs: 1st Game commences
1200hrs: Lunch
1230hrs: 2nd Game commences
1500hrs: 3rd Game Commences
1730hrs: Prize Giving and Event Close; Massive thanks to all!
1800hrs: Venue Closes: any help tidying up is appreciated.

Until Saturday Morning then,

Love, Peace, and Artillery Shells raining 6mm death...

Yrs,
Ryan"

Just looked at the Weather! Heavy snow forecast for Bristol on Friday until Saturday morning; if anyone has any problems arriving in time then we'll keep them a table open for practice games upon arrival, any one missing a game due to weather conditions will be given a 'Draw' score of 16pts.

Gah. Hopefully the drive from London won't be too bad! At least at that time on a saturday morning there shouldn't be loads of traffic at least...

Wow, in an unprecedented move, I have just finished the painting required for Winter Warmer and the army is packed and ready to go.

I'm usually frantically painting up until late into the night before the tourney, before crawling out of bed at 4am for the drive up to Mansfield. Winter Warmer being 10 miles away is gonna make this weekend a breeze!
Note to self; local tournies is the way to go!

So, who's running what on Saturday?

Cheers
Reedar

I intend to drive down from London by car if possible, picking up Alan on the way. However given the conditions, we may have to travel by train - but I really don't fancy the 1.5 mile hike from the station to Triple Helix in arctic conditions. :geek

On which point MoK, you may need to consider a slightly delayed start to accomodate stragglers held up but the conditions . . . .

IF we get there, I am bringing a 'quirky' Eldar army and I believe Alan is bringing an equally 'quirky' Ork mob.
