I will also say that I'm more than happy to print of a copy of anyone's list for an event I'm attending, just ask at least 2 days before and I will print them.

And my comment regarding people running events that fits their needs stands. To constantly whine that no-one is running events the way you want is futile. If you want it run it, people will help if they want it too.

Players post lists on the forum prior to the event after the submission deadline.




Heh. I am reading this and thinking that the best solution is to do both! Posted online prior to the event and a copy of the list taken to the event. Covers all bases....

Revealing lists before the list deadline has been discussed by the Epic-UK committee before and it's been decided not to do so.

Players do often posts lists here on TC, but by no means all do, or want to.

Which is cool, and understandable. TBH what Steve has done in the OP (append army type to each player) gives everyone the chance to read up on anything they aren't familiar with.

I for one have never faced Tau, so will be giving them a look over before the w/e in the event I have the, er, pleasure of playing Steve with them.......

Point One - I'm not the TO for Open War, or the GT so you better check that the TO concerned would find it ok. As a player I'm fine with it.

Point Two. I will bring two(2) copies of your list for Open War 18, and you better not lose both!

Point Three. Just don't see how it would fit and be able to have enough space to write in your opp's name and the score in a way that's easy to read... but I will have a play with it for the GT forms... and if I achieve it and you lose that sheet I may just kill you

I'd highly reccommend it! It's an unusual army to play against, and takes some getting used to fighting.

Lists etc wise I guess over time it's something that tournaments might naturally gravitate to - the issue currently of not everyone being tech literate, not using forums (or specifically tac comms) and suchlike make it unlikely in the short term, but who knows where tech might take us? Let's not forget that only something like 50% of the country has stuff like smartphones at the moment, i think when penetration of devices becomes higher and the software etc allows for it all to just be much easier than printing stuff out then no doubt it will start to catch on. Really as Dave says the best way is to literally run an event using it and if it's a success then it makes for a much more compelling arguement to deploy across more events.

Given the size of the Epic community mind you, the last thing we want to do is to make it difficult for someone to join in and take part - so i think generally hitting the lowest common denominator, while not perhaps being as aspirational as it could be, does mean we're getting as many people playing as possible
