Not only could they carry a tank company, I have a memory of them carrying a superheavy company.

I have a memory of that as well...

I do recollect a picture of a CI which was "huge" and we are talking bigger than a FW Cathedral here. I am sure that was the original concept which was then "scuppered" due to metal costs.

Of course the metal CI is not too out of scale in comparison to the main Epic tanks - whereas the Levithan is waaaayyyyy too small!!!

:o

I agree with that. i used to want one utill I saw it next to a Rhino, and then it but me off. I thought it was supposed to be a mobile command centre, you can't get a squad in that!!!

Cheers

The Squat Collosus though, one of the varients, while I havn't seen it in real life, looks pretty impressive in WD pictures- Ahah!, this is what Epic needs more of, BFG weapons on superheavies!!! :;): hehe

Nova Cannons on war machines. Anyone fancy a super-killer-titan killing-hurty-death ray? Kills an Imperator including Void shields in one shot. Blows massive holes in infanty. Has been know to wipe out ork warbands quite easily...

Cheers

I have played with CI, Hellbore, and all the Squat Leviathan varients, over the years and have them in my collection. Fun to use because of the size and fire power however they are rather slow as anything that big would be. ?I usually use many of the Squat heavies in the defense because of that. ?But like Titans anything with that much fire power has to be taken out as soon as possible and they usually were destroyed in the first few turns. One of my gaming buddies had a predilection for using the CI and I became pretty good at trashing them ... ? :D

Do you know where this picture is Jimbo? Could you post it? I would really like to see it.

I must admit I am interested in that pic too.

It would be nice to see an New CI model, the old model is well overpriced on ebay and there have been only a couple of times where no one has paid attention and its been sold cheaper, but thats rare!

Roll on the end of the year  :D

Hi!

I think I remember that picture too, if I recollect correctly it was a picture of people playing epic with 40k minis and someone made a CI, it was enormous, although for the scale (28mm) it was small. I'll see if I can scrounge it up.

The CI from SM1 was much better than the SM2 version, since it had plasma cannons, this was substituted by a very short ranged cannon in SM2. The value of this unit in SM@ was very low, since it lacked long ranged capability and it was really too slow for rapid deployement of troops. It was rarely used.

In net epic its a new ball game. First of they have templates like titans, so they are VERY resilient. Second we brought back the older weapons. It functions know like a real battelfortress and its used as an anchor to the battle line and rallying point. Due to its many shields its a good place to hide vulnerable troops.

Damn, that is amazing!! I bet it could never be used in battle, it would be bigger than most tables!!!

Bet you could make some ace VDR rules for it though!!

Cheers
