I'm facing painting a lot of Imperial Guard Beastmen and I'm completely clueless on how to paint them. I paint to tabletop standard so I'm thinking about basecoat, wash, drybrush, detail but I don't know where to begin colourwise.

I'm sure that some here have painted Beastmen, so what's your recipe? :)

You have a lot of classic EPIC models on your blog, you should do an army shot.

Spray them Army Painter Uniform Gray, pick out pistols with scab red, paint swords / axes with boltgun metal, outline horns with bleached bone, wash badab black.

Cheers for the pics guys, they've certainly got me thinking. :) I'll probably lean more towards earthy colours because the rest of the army is grey and it'd be good for them to stand out a bit (and I'm getting seriously bored of painting grey ;) ). I'm just dreading how slow they're going to be to paint and base compared to normal IG stands.

@moredakka - Cheers for checking out my blog. :) The army shot will hopefully happen soon, I just want to get a couple more companies of vehicles painted before I do that. Even so I normally update the blog every week with whatever I've been working on.

Hi,
Personal prefrence but if you have loads to do try white base coat spray and keep layering ogrin flesh wash until your
happy, quick flick of gunmetal for weapons, dab of what ever colur you want for loin cloth, then a black wash on
weapon and loin cloth ;)

Or as said above army painter with a black wash finish ;)
Very quick and gives a decent result ;)
