Time for more updates.
First up, demolishers for my minervan force. I did a reverse of the normal scheme - the ochre color is the base while the gray make up the patches:

Somewhat annoyingly, they came from ebay with bolter sponsons. So I took some E40K plasma guns and grafted the ends onto the bolters. I'm not really sure it made a difference, but the OCD was satisfied :P

Next, conquerers. They did not start out as such, and 'twas a long and winding road to get them to this point. In their original form, they were griffon hulls that I planned on converting to salamanders. I envisioned salamanders with turrets for some reason, but after I filled in the mortar pit and put on a turret they looked much more like medium than light tanks, so presto change-o, they became...

Merkavus-Pattern Conquerers (the significance of "merkava" has long been lost in the mists of time, but some believe it has something to do with the engine/crew compartment arrangement):

WIP:

And finished:

I added some baggage and other stuff (reactive armor on one, air recognition tarps on two others, applique log armor on a third). Instead of being mounted in the hull, the lascannon is coax to the conquerer cannon (an ork big shoota). The turrets are demolisher turrets.

The merkavus-pattern was used primarily in the Moscovianite heresy on Pennstatus IV. The planet foolishly turned to Chaos when the Imperium was slow to respond to its pleas for help against a perceived Dark Eldar incursion. An Emperor's Children war band decided the rebels were not worth the effort when it was discovered that the "incursion" was just some dude in assless chaps and a ball gag capering about and making people very uncomfortable. The imperium eventually showed up and suppressed the rebellion with overwhelming force, noting that the Moscovianites were just way too eager to be corrupted.

You heard me; Moscovianites just looooooove chaos. They want to marry it. ;D

Great looking Minervans- we are going to start pleading for an army group shot shortly.

Interesting conversions for sallies with turrets- like the name.

What bases do you use for tanks? I have used Warmaster bases for mine- yours look a touch shorter- are the FoW bases?

Cheers

James

Thanks WI. The minervans are a couple of mech platoons and some exterminators short of being done - we'll see about the army shot then. Hopefully, there will be a few army shots in this thread eventually, as it's my catch-all blog for all my IG armies.
Those are Flames of War small bases

Love the conquerers, though I thought Chimaeras had their engines in the track sections, not in front of the crew compartment. Nice placemat, too.

People have to stop putting up pics of LR demolishers where I'll see them, I find them hard to resist as is!

Nice work anyway!

Isn't Markava the name on an Israeli tank?

In any case, nice conversions.

Yes, an Israeli tank with a front mounted engine that forms an integral part of the armor scheme. It can also carry a fire team, unique in an MBT.

No, Matt, you can't put Minervan Armored fists in the backs of your Comquerers.

hmm, it'll be hard to look Mosc in the eye again and I'm certainly not having him bound and gagged in my basement.

Anyways, what happened to your deathwheelz?

You have exposed my cleverness to the world...
It is indeed. I was writing in my 40k fluff voice. If you must know how that sounds, recall how we all say "sorcerer lord" - the rest of you poor deprived souls will have to imagine listening to a game dungeons and dragons spoken through a severe and annoying lisp.
