left at 7:15, did 45 miles in three hours including two stalls and having to help push a BMW up a hill while the driver ineffectually span his wheels.... finally got my kebab (the one that I had been having an extended fantasy about since 5pm) and had to walk the last mile, couple that with a couple of losses and my first ever win and that rounded out an awesome tournament debut!

Just made it back to Bristol....

Most of the trip home was made crawling along at 30mph, or trying to slipstream the gritters/snow plows...!

Ah but daz the true glory was dozen's of written off fancy cars, watching cocky white van drivers fish tail and spin out, realising that every car in a hedge was a 4x4, not being able to read any signs, going the wrong way around service stations, nearly getting stuck in the truck stop, and playing the game of "Ohh It's stopping" "No Jon, now it's worse than it was before"

Hello, just back after 75 miles in 10.5 hours! (Curse those jack-knifing lorries!)

Thanks to Simon, Kevin and Sam for the day's games! (Making the journey worthwhile!)

Hopefully you all made it back last night through the snow, thanks to everybody for coming. Another very successful event which the entrants made very easy to referee.

Results+report to follow

Wow sounds like going to Scotland was the best option. No snow, no rain and watching an England win.

Wow! Well done Gary and Si (oh and Dave ;) ) and everyone else who won a prize.
And lovely to see some feral orks out too.

Sounds like some of you guys had some real adventures out in the snow there. I was sitting at home infront of a real fire with a bottle of brandy

I must say I found the pace of the games very trying. I will probably get used to it as I get more practice. This was a real eye-opener :)

Thanks to the organizers for the event and box o paints :) and to my opponents Steve, Si Jenkins and Simon Partridge for the games and their patience with a noob.

I must admit, in future (and not just for tournaments) I may reconsider when snow is forecast like it was. No fun driving the 75 miles to York, but thank God there were no jack-knifed lorries in front of me. 10.5 hours scullrik!! nightmare!!

Well, I have a calmer paced 2k game planned for this afternoon warm in the house :)

Thanks for another great event chaps. Lovely to meet Erin finally after months of years of knowing him through Twitter. Gary - you showed me Orks were a force I never thought they could be - though I had the satisfaction of crushing your Warboss under the wheels of my Lord of Battles. And Darren - making my Lord of Battles slink and hide the entire game. Three great games.

I liked the draw being projected with the iPad - natch touch. The bookmark reference was a nice touch, and the teary sheets another one.

Using the smaller room gave it more of a packed atmosphere, and it was great to see so many Epic gamers at once.

Shame the snow kaiboshed the curry, I was looking forward to a catch-up with the regulars and an introduction to the newer faces. Next time!

It took Flame On six-seven hours to get back to Manchester. It was a fun trip though, with two passengers in the car we were able to push all the struggling cars on or out the way. And take turns writing names in the snow.

Kyuss - I bet we were also pushing that same Cad blue BMW up hills.

Only photo I took all day - Jon's FB's spent 4 turns bombing my Dominatrix and only managed 3 wounds....karma for killing it with one wound last game :)

Got back home in Cambridgeshire at 1:15am which felt like an epic to me, so I'm sorry to hear others had worse journeys. Still, I'm glad I went, it was fun to play against such genial opponents with a variety of lovely looking armies to boot.
