I've decided to add a little more pressure on myself and create this blog so that I will FORCE myself to achieve my goals...4 Armies, 3 Display boards and a WHOLE lot of beer....in 87 Days...
No biggie...right?
So I'll try to take as many pics as I can, and post at least twice a week.
So this will be post #1. Mission Statement.
I guess the first thing to talk about is the “why”. Trying to get everything ready for this year's Adepticon 2012 in Chi-town. On a side note, if you haven't been to this event, your missing an amazing time. I've taken upon myself to enter the oh so Awesome EA Challenge again. I can't wait since I had a blast. Couple highlights included getting my drink on with one of my opponents (his whiskey) during the first game. Met a web celeb and didn't even know it (Craig from D6G). Coming sooooo close to winning the blasted thing. Hats off to Matt A. from TacCom boards again for winning with that finely painted Necron force. He was a tough competitor too! I'm planning for something BIG this time. Going to be bringing my A-game...
Army #1 – EA Challenge Army - This year I'm keeping my 3000 pt force “top secret” until the day of the event, but rest assured I will be posting my progress none the less (heavily censored of coarse). If you can guess what it is, more power to ya. I know that sounds strange, but when the event is over, I'll post the uncensored pics for you chaps to take a gander at. Also one of three display boards to complete.
Army #2 – EA Narrative Game – I'm really looking forward to this one. A narrative game base off the 2nd War of Armageddon. I'll be using a 3000 pt Death Korps of Kreig force. I think it's Imperial Forces as defenders and Xenos as Attackers. All for fun, so I'm going to go ridiculous with this one. No display board planned for this one.
Army #3 – Flames of War - As if 2 tournaments in 2 days isn't enough, I thought to myself, “Jay, why not torture yourself a little more and compete in the Flames of War Tournament.” So I said back to myself, “Yeah Jay, you know that's a great idea!” So I've entered the FoW Early Tournament and will be competing with a German Blitzkrieg force. I've decided to go with a Light Panzer Company, but with some mounted footlsoggers to go with them. I'm not too sure that a “all or nothing” tank force would win some games. I'm a firm believer in combined arms. With that said, this will be my first tournament for FoW and I can't wait to see some amazing armies. When it comes to converting and painting, the WW2 hobby crowd NEVER disappoints. This force will also have a display board. 2 of 3.
Army #4 – EA – AMTL – This is something that's more personal than anything. I've been sitting on this pile of Titans for some time now and all I've managed to do is play some games with a unpainted and unfinished rag tag band of sad models. I'm hoping to make them happy and get this force finished. For some reason I feel that I need a display board for this. I'm hoping to bring these guys up to Adepticon with me to put on display during the two tournaments, So I might as well do a board for them. Maybe even get a game in (hint hint) to all you EA fans out there at Adepticon.
OK, enough talky talky. More worky worky. Next post I'll have some beginning pics of my decent into INSANITY!
