Primarch | I too am taking the Epic Tau plunge shortly...no doubt it will be piddling and insignificant to the impending Primarchload!

Geez, I'd rather just use the .pdfs than pay $40 for the rulebook and be reminded of pixelgeek everytime I open the inside cover. I hope the print is small.
I have mixed feelings on crediting the whole playtesting process. In a sense it is just a freakin game, but since i have been a big fan of it for the last decade, and the fact I was one of the first playtesters, just having us mentioned as a group is nice. But to name a few.... well... i can see how some people would be rubbed the wrong way. But to be honest, the playtesters are always mentioned in GW's books I think (at least the ones I have seen) and they are probably just enthusiasts around the area, not all GW employees.
I really wish they would do this with 40k 4th ed. I think giving the players a chance to design their favorite game is great.

Hi!
That's why net epic books do not list credits. Even though there are individuals that add more to the game, its still a team effort, thus a thanks to the "net epic group" suffices.
Not even Tom or my name gets on it. Sometimes perceptions are important.

I agree with your other points though. I appreciate it when any arm of GW listens to the people who play the games, and getting a mention is a bonus but not the point. That being said, I like the fact that a few names are mentioned. I think that it will improve the appeal of the game if some individuals are noted as it gives new players the knowledge that they can change things and it is worth feeding back.

Thanks for answering my question, Tuff. ====
With respect to the playtesting, I don't think the number of posts was the determining factor. I was under the impression that it was based on overall effort and included the folks that went above and beyond just forum participation.
Not having access to the full list, I won't speculate what everyone's contribution was, but I did a pro bono technical edit of the rules (including stuff not posted in the vault) back around August/September before JJ was to send them to the in-house layout guys.
I suspect others' contributions were similarly useful, and their name-specific mention is deserved.
