"Now the trenches are on a hill in a curved formation, and the middle part is in danger of becoming under fire from two directions. But the guardsmen will have to deal with it..."

That's what guards do best. Inspiring stuff as always. Love the wooden walls and all the details that has gone into this scenery (not to mention the Sentinels).

Thank you for your comments! I was just walking on a snowy hill out there. It had some pine trees on top of it, so it would have made an excellent defensive position. I guess too much miniature wargaming can lead to such strange ideas on ordinary strolls on forest.

I agree, Rudolf, a very unique, original army AND terrain.

I still have to sort out some terrain for my EA Valhallans- I might have to come to you for advice!

Cheers

Oops, I forgot to post these pictures back in January when I got this painted. So here is the method of shipping my guardsmen to warzone, an Imperial Navy cruiser. It can also provide some support in form of orbital bombardments and lance strikes.

Image
Named after Finnish general Aaro Pajari.

Image
The flight stand as well as weapon slots are magnetised, just for the fun of it.

Image
Some glow effect on thrusters.

Image
I replaced one of the forward antenna masts with a dome.

Really good colour scheme, simple yet striking.

Thank you. I planned that glow effect some time, and have decided to use it on some other places, that will be seen soon enough.

More super heavy tanks, actually only one though. But I have two more primed and waiting to receive my attention. This Shadowsword blasts enemy war engines to blazing wrecks from afar.

Image
The glow effect on the volcano cannon looks better a little farther away, but still I think of adding pure white to the middle parts. What do you think? I used white on the IN cruiser, but left that last step out this time.

Image
Numbered 801, the rest will be 800 and 802. Naturally 800 has some antennas to distinguish it as a command tank.

Image

In general I kept the tank really simply painted, just camouflage and only few non-camo details. I think this works quite well, giving the idea of a military vehicle, without completely losing cool looks.

I decided to keep the glow effect as it is. And proceeded to paint the other two Shadowswords. Here they are.

The command tank has taken some small hits to it's side, but such small guns will not stop a super heavy tank.
