Yes, the whole idea of a wet palette is that water seeps through the paper into the paint. I usually wet the surface of the paper before applying paint, then I keep the sponge underneath quite wet. It keeps the paint thin enough for work like this. Hope that helps. By the way, I am quite blown away by your Exodite army. It is a real Internet treat.

I've also had great success with valaijo drying retarder. Mix a blob in and drying times are greatly extended.
