Mostly I just want this to be settled. Armour 6+ or none is barely an issue, and can be reviewed later. Think of it this way: if it turns out they need 6+ armor, we can give it to them. Until then, let's finally end this craziness ;)

I`m for

Armour 6+
Wingtip Lascannons: 30cm AT5+/AA5+
Long-Barrel Autocannon: 45cm AP5+/AT6+/AA5+

Really the 6+ armour isn't that of a boost if any. I have yet to see a game where the 6+ save actually saved the aircraft. Usually at the end of the game all my Thunderbolts got shot down (ok i field only 2).

I don't think it forces them to jink every time. I'll often willingly lose a plane if I think getting the attack through is important enough.

If we're having an AA4+ attack at 45cm on intercept then we need Armour - to balance it out.

I was fine with that, others weren't, because it either meant upping the lascannons to 4+(3+) or being weaker than the thunderbolt in AA terms.

The Lightning IS weaker than the Thunderbolt in AA terms. It "only" has alonger range. And that is fine.

The stats i posted above where agreed upon by the majority. Then someone came up with AT4+/AA4+ Lascannons and now everyone cries NO ARMOUR!!!

WTF?

What should be the stats?

Armour 6+
Wingtip Lascannons: 30cm AT5+/AA5+
Long-Barrel Autocannon: 45cm AP5+/AT6+/AA5+

OR
Armour --
Wingtip Lascannons: 45cm AT4+/AA4+
Long-Barrel Autocannon: 45cm AP5+/AT6+/AA5+

We've "agreed" on two possible stat sets:

Armour -
Wingtip Lascannons: 30cm AT5+/AA5+
Long-Barrel Autocannon: 45cm AP5+/AT6+/AA5+

OR
Armour 6+
Wingtip Lascannons: 45cm AT4+/AA4+
Long-Barrel Autocannon: 45cm AP5+/AT6+/AA6+

Except for the armour, that's fine. With a 45cm AA4+ intercept I really think it needs the armour downgrade.

It is a SINGLE AA4+ shot on intercept at 45cm. Armour or not there is no need to fly into the 30cm AA umbrella of the target.

If you want the second shot you have to fly into the AA-umbrella. And as you want to shoot you won't jink anyway.

Rug: One of the iconic features of the Lightning is that it defends itself with speed and maneuverability rather than with the thickness of its armour. It's completely appropriate.
