Hi
Over the past few weeks I have been painting up some Epic orks with the intention of having at least 2 painted 3K intro armies, so that I could run demo games and attract some new players. As well as posting the pictures here in the modelling section I have also posted them on the forum of my local gaming club. Well it has borne fruit earlier than i expected. I still have nt finished painting them yet but it sparked an interest in one our club members.
I have said that I would lend Simon my spare EA rulebook, and offered him to run him though the training scenarios. What would be the checklist of 3-4 things a new player would need (I have not had to run a new player through basics of EA before)?
I recently downloaded an FAQ (Nealhunt Master FAQ Last updated Dec 3rd 2010)- I presume this is the latest version. Would I just need this, the EA rulebook (and army lists)?
Second question is re Chaos lists, which I have not been following. Simon was interested in doing Epic Chaos- he has some Warmaster daemons and likes the look of Slaanesh daemon engines. I have reminded him of scale differences between Epic and Warmaster but said that Warmaster daemons would make nice Epic Greater Daemons.
Likewise I have warned him that Slaanesh daemon engines can be expensive, but he thinks he can get hold of some at reasonable price. Which Chaos lists can he use these Slaanesh daemon engines in? Would it be L&TD?
Thanks
James

There's no problems with using Warmaster Daemons in Epic, they look suitably scary.
LatD and Emperors Children lists use the Slaanesh Daemon Engines. I resorted to creating my own knights as I could not afford the prices for them, but Subjugators are quite cheap on ebay or again use the old Warhound body to create your own.

A lot of people use Warmaster demons in epic. They're a bit out of scale but just put in down to extra deamonic powers flowing through the planet or something.
The LaTD list is the main with the Demons. They've also been included in the Emperor's Children list. My favourite is the Questor myself - those 2 x TK(D3) attacks for 225 points is just nasty (I planned an Emperor's Children list maxed out with 4 of them).
I sold a number of Slaanesh Knights for £4-6 each recently, less expensive than they once were. Someone hereabouts might be helping out with availability in time I hear though.

Converted plastic imperial knights work quite well too!

Thanks guys- i am waiting to find out whether Simon wants to do a primarily cultist or CSM list.
I have found the GW Epic Resources link, with updated rulebook etc.
Which FAQ should I use for new players? The Nealhunt Master FAQ Last updated Dec 3rd 2010? Or the FAQ on GW website?
If I have updated rulebook, FAQ and army lists, what other documents would he need?
Thanks
James

I'd go with the 2010 update to FAQ's.
