Interesting...I just heard about this on the news. Seems like a good idea, but I read somewhere that he was going to announce this on the 18th december last year, to tie in with 100 years of flight.

Oh, and the price tag on all this is...wait for it...

ONE TRILLION DOLLARS!!!

Bush will try anything to stay in office...

Cheers

Chris

Wasnt this disucssed >20years ago when the shuttle first 'revolutionised space travel'?

There were to be people living permnently on the moon by now dammit!

Hi!

If you want fast space exploration, just fine a way corporations can make a profit up there and presto!

Instant space exploration.... :;):

"Osama is on the moon" - they would be there tomorrow.

Another random thought - Imagine how much Epic you could buy with a trillion dollars! It would put Primarch's armies to shame! (Did I just say that?)

Cheers

Too many other things to do down here, to be spend that kind of cash.  Either way, he will be re-elected ... the Democrats are their own worst enemy.  And Osama or Usama (?) will be dead (not captured) by the end of summer ...  :;):   However the war and the space program will continue ... regardless.

As far as I am concerned, there is very little more important than the space program. It has been underfunded and continuously cut for way too long!

Anyhow, I am sure that it is only a matter of time before we see orbital poster boards, and advertising logos projected onto the Moon (Pepsi?). *shudder*

There is already so much junk up there and so little money down here. A very sorry state of affairs!

A lunar station has been discussed since before Armstrong and Aldrin! Manned trips to Mars would be fantastic, they could collect all of the rubbish that has broken down there - Breakdown Recovery refuse to service that postcode.

While I'm against nearly Bush's policies on nearly everything else, I'm in favour of increased spending on space exploration for lots of reasons. Long term future of the human race (good insurance policy), scientific spinoffs on Earth, spirit of exploration, expansion of knowledge, potential for extra resources, etc

With all the problems here, a Space Station (there is one up there now !), Moon or Mars shots, would do little to help, IMO.  Maybe I'm just "old and jaded".  In the past, I was a big advocate of Space exploration, however ... there is too much to be done here.   And I am "amazed" that Europeans would have negative things to say about the US President !?!?!           }:)  :;):

That's the way I see it ... Jimbo !  And you'd have to get a loan from the bank to buy the new rule book !

I wonder if the pages are made from pressed Platinum with gold types and illustrations made by a mosaic of gemstones... Add to that the ridiculous p&p cost and there you have it! :-:

Cheers!
