Hi all, back in the good old days when all of my body worked and nothing ached !!!!! I use to play the original Epic game and i loved it !!!!!

Well now it is many years on and I have lost contact with all the people I used to play with (no pun intendid). I find myself off sick for a prelonged period of time and staring at a lot of unpainted epic stuff that I have collected over the years. I am working threw painting this hoard of Orks, Imperial, Mariens and Eldar.

I would realy like to get back into playing Epic under the up to date Epic Armergeddon rules. So if there is any one out there who lives in the Stafford area (UK) and is interested let me know !!!

There is quite à big tournament scene in the uk. Their page is epic-uk.co.uk You might want to look into that if you like that kind of competitive gaming environment. You might find some people that live close that way.

Got any good advice for someone who is efectively new to this game ?

I should probably not give to much advise as I have only played 7 games so far.

But I could say that starting with necrons like I did is probably not advisable. I felt like I missed some parts of the game because they behave a bit differently from your ordinary EA army. Which is not a bad thing in itself (I actually think the list gives a good portrait of how it would be to fight against/with them), but if you want to learn the basics then one of the armies you mentioned above is probably a good start.

when I started, the general viewpoint was that Imperial Guard (steel legion) and Orks (Waagh Ghazgkull) were probably the best armies to learn the game with, also a good idea to avoid aircraft initially

Thats great news as I have both of these and think I may be falling in love with them both !! Have been busy building gun wagons and flack wagons fron rhinos.

Thanks Rug !! I was starting to get the idea that tornoments were the way forward ! Its a bit of a daunting prospect but I suppose I will have to get over it.

First things first I need to finish painting and modeling my army, then I need to get a basic understanding of the ruels. Oh and I need to get better as I am curently off long term sik and am not allowed to do much !!

So hopefuly in a few months I will be in good health and have a force to start with, then I can see what tourny's are about.

Honestly no need to be daunted by tournaments - Miket come to one last year after one game of EA and has hardly missed one since and another guy came this year after 3 previous games.

The EpicUK GT is November 26/27th in Mansfield
