Im playing a 6k game on thursday using my skittarii(most likeley against LATD,but might be necrons,not sure yet)anywho my question is,what would your recomendations be on the number of activations i should have???

Also,while on the subject,is there a set amount of orders people use while building there armies???

I'd probably stick to the usual rule of thumb: 3 per 1000pts should be your minimum.

You can go below that, but only if you have a specific plan in mind that'll help you overcome your lack of activations.

For Skitts you could go as low as 2.5/1k if most of your formations are beefy. My 5k Steel Legion comes in at 11, and hasn't performed badly. But that's the extreme low end, and can get chewed up pretty well if handled improperly.

ive got a couple of days to sort the list out,so ill work it from there,ill post it up before thursday,im pretty sure ill be out numbered on the activation front if hes playing LATD!!

That should be 5985,i do apologise if its wrong but my math is terrible!!!
Thats 17 activations,is that enough??

I put the list on here for the purpose of the activation question,ill post it the AMTL section in a mo for suggestions and critisism !!!

In terms of the number of activations you have 17 isn't bad, but I personally would drop a formation or two of Skitarii and take at least one formation of Lemans. Also, I would probably change one of the Armageddons to another type of Majoris to give you a little more flexibility. Note that TLDs are now 25 points, not 35.

Im only taking models that i have,for some reason i dont have any SHT's or leman russes yet,that may change at xmas,the only reason ive taken 2 armageddons was to deal with the ungodly amount of war engines he'll take in 6 K,in 4K he takes 2 lords of battle and 2 plague towers,so i kinda thought id need all the help id get with the armageddon pattern.

At larger point values, you can drop below this guideline. It's easier to accommodate big stuff at higher points. Fewer, durable formations are definitely viable.

That said, I think the list looks pretty good. Most formations are durable - everything but the Sentinels, which are scouts. I think most of them will remain combat effective after taking fire.
