A very minor and piccy point but could a mod or the op change the title to "Where next for netEA?"

netEA and TC are not one and the same despite what many people may think. TC is much more than netEA, and as ever I'd like to thank CS for allowing all that goes on here to go on, without any request for support.

CS, I salute you.

Meph has a fail point.

Maybe the next thing TC should do is get an EpicUK sub-forum...

The yearly release date seems an excellent idea to me: New Year/New Epic could be a great way of doing things.

From what I've seen there seems to be a fairly general consensus that we shouldn't be adding new units/changing stats/list structure to keep up with 40k: keep with the generic theme that all armies have always had and which dictates their more stereotypical incarnation as according to long standing 'concepts'

Sure...if something get's majorly retconned then switch it about a bit but I'm sure most people have a fairly certain idea what X army is meant to be like (generically).

As if GW will change the same Codex every year.
Last time i checked a Codex gets an update every 3-7 years iirc.

Marines do tend to get updates fairly often, I think we're on the third "core" Marine Codex for the life of Epic:Armageddon at this point...

So 2 updates during the 7 years of EA existence.

Hena, if you do restart the latex work let me know, I started to read a few online books but never really delved into deep myself. A year on and I'd be really interested to see where you got with it.

Hey gents!

I appreciate all the offers from volunteers, and I may call on you, but that's not the actual issue that causes delays. Not including the myriad difficulties of Real Life Intrusions, the primary issue is not having the "final" or "good enough" versions of the lists submitted to us by the various Champions that are the versions desired to be in the book. Lists that can stand tall without tweaking for a while, especially ones that will be considered "Approved".

It's getting the *right* data for the data entry; this isn't usually a problem for the "core" lists of various races (unless it's me mon-keighing around with Biel-Tan), but more for all the "almost done" variants and such. For example, to pick on Hena, various Marine issues have only recently been decided, such as Land Raider costs, and that cascades through a lot of other lists; having those issues up in the air means that the Marine section can't be really be released in a "finished" state.

What *I* need is for the various army Champs and Sub-Champs to send me their "current" or "final" lists in an easily editable form, perferably as a .doc or .rtf and not as a .pdf. Then it's a simple matter of updating the master docs with any updates or changes. Most have responded in the "Approval" thread, but me having to hunt through various forums to find the actual documents with these armies is a difficult chore.

I hope that clarifies things a bit. The ball is rolling and picking up speed. We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvinience.
