Any thoughts or changes people would make to the below list?

Nasty list. If I was playing against you I would try and spread the objectives out as much as possible to cause problems for your ground pounders.

Well it's for an upcoming tournament in November so I am getting in early to try and make and tweak a list up.

I want to get it right early on as I still have to get some of the minis together.

The initial idea had 2x Decimators and an extra Retinue, but we got rid of them to get the Dreadclaw drop, the raptors, an extra Daemon Prince and the Obliterator.

Other than adding some daemons to bulk out the podding formations it looks pretty tasty to me. You are quite light on ground AA if you come up against too many air assault armies.

A key question is - which black legion list are you using?

Also any reason as to why the demon prince is replacing the warlord and not hiding safely int he ground pounding warband where it is availible turn 1 onwards and not going on a potential suicide run?

It is a consideration. I see the EA MWs that he has and feel I really need to get him into CC. Also being Fearless with a 3+ RA is going to be a real problem for the opponent (I am hoping).

You are probably right however. I will see how the game goes tonight.

I thought the Demon Prince replaces the unit? Or do you replace the unit then add the warlord?

Ah, was under the impression you couldn't upgrade upgrades!

Normally you can't, but this is the exception that proves the rule!

The list came up against Dobbsy's Space Wolves (v2.2) and lost 3:1.

Space Wolves: Blitz, T&H, BTS
Black Legion: T&H

Learnings: I probably teleported the terminators down onto the wrong table edge. I placed them in front of two great companies, and then lost the initiative Space Wolves were then able to shoot and clip the Warlord formation with 6 out of 5 5+MW supporting hits finishing off the formation. The 2nd Terminator formation did get to charge and managed to kill enough units to place on 8 BM, yet was then itself wiped out on the 2nd round of combat. It was hard seeing a formation of Marines running around with 8BM and not yet broken I will get used to it however

Other than that, I learned that if you are going up against the Space Wolves, just clip them. They are too numerous to go toe-to-toe with. Either that, or if you can, hit them hard with long ranged weaponry.

The only concern with the BL list so far was how easily I lost the Warlord and the BTS formation. Possibly a later teleport, or into a less hostile area is the way to go.

You can fit some nasty in there with no daemons!

...and after an extremely small think about it, I changed the rhinos over to the warlord's retinue, both to shift him around if needed and to take BTS off of the potentially suicidal terminators in list #1

The Space Wolves were fairly lucky on critical dice offs. Things would most likely have gone the other way had they not been.

I think your list was quite good and I would have been pressed a little more if you'd included an extra formation by leaving out the space craft. I out-activated you towards the end and things would have changed if you'd been similarly numbered.
