Hi!
At LEAST you try, I dont even do that any more. Its not even a question of time (although its a major consideration), but the realization that I don't enjoy painting, it's just work to me.

I finally managed to complete my scout company for my Ultramarines Chapter. I've had the first detatchment painted up for ages but the rest just lay at the bottom of the box unfinished. Today I finally pulled myself together and gave the remaining 13 stands a quick coat of paint. The paint job itself is not exactly very impressive -I just wanted the models painted to a gaming standard quickly- but there's a few quick conversions in there which turned out ok. Sniper scouts and Heavy Bolters were based on the old mk1 marine which looked less bulky than the newer models. a piece of plastic rod addeed to the barrel of the bolter for the sniper rifle and i attempted to make a "gila-suit" sort of thingy using glue and sand on the back of the model -unfortunately it doesnt show in the pic. The Heavy bolter is from the Thunderhawk sponson with a blob of green stuff for the arm. It didn't take very long to sculpt and looks a bit less uniform than the standad scout model. (I must confess that I've never quite grown to love that model... it's just too big when compared to the rest of the marines)
Also finished some Forge World Basilisks (one is seen in the background) and gave a few manticores a basecoat. It's really weird... for the past week i've seemed to be able to do more painting done than I've mannaged to do for the past couple of months!
but the realization that I don't enjoy painting, it's just work to me. | I must confess that I often feel the same way but once you've managed to pull yourself together and get some painting done I find it very rewarding afterwards
Cheers!

To quote L4: "Indeed" Looking forward very much to seeing the finished army! Just added the link; It's strange how sometimes you just seem to forget to add the very reason why you made the post in the first place... I really shouldn't be going senile at the tender age of 21...I hope
Cheers!

Grand battery finished! My first unit ever where I actually used flock! Then I basecoated the Emperor's Champion and Templar Marshal who have been sitting on my desk for a long time.
BTW, do you people use any bonding method on the flock other than the glue? It seems to me that the glue isn't strong enough to prevent some of the flock from coming off over time. I have thought of coating it with a thin coat of matt varnish just to be sure.

Gloss varnish is generally tougher, but obviously its... err... gloss, which usually isnt a good thing in my opinion!

When I'm adding sand to my bases I always just glue the sand down and them paint over it before the final drybrush- this keeps it all together, and yeah, a bit of varnish will keep flock on really well!
..Oh, and I love the Planet Killer Kr00za- good job!

Lol.. nice idea- better than normal resolutions anyway!
Heh.. anyway, think I'll resolve to finish all my Epic Eldar and IG, as well as my BFG Chaos fleet, and last on the priority list will be 40k Death Guard...

Knowing my (in)ability to keep any kind of schedules I shouldn't say anything. But... I resolve to finish my Epic IG army, make a playable force of 40K Black Templars, paint half of my Squats and try da sekret konvershun projekt.
