Dino-herdes aren't Knights. Dino-herders are farmers, Knights are warriors.
And yes Knights can be on every other world as a Knight World but then you can't using Knight Wardens as these remain on the Knight World when the Housholds go offworld.

List please :)

It usually gets talked about once a year and then disappears off the radar.

Yes a List! My friend and I were brainstorming about this today.

But seriously i would rather see a Knightworld armylist together with Eldar Exodites in the same supplement.

Query: does a Knight World have to be an Agri world?

Knightworlds are assumed to be Feudalworlds. Main export product would be meat and other byproducts from dinosaur farming to nourish the Forgeworld they are in liege to.

It doesn't have to be, but it's a nice nod to the past to have them as a garrison force on an Ad Mech administrated agri-world.

This is the mistake. The thing where I said the original authors of knights didn't get it.

The whole Imperium is feudal. Therefore you don't need special feudal worlds. The Imperium is it!

Every one is in liege to a lord, and every Noble has his own army. The imperial guard is the emperors army. Other lords have their own personal armies.
Everyone is supposed to hold umltimate allegiance to the emperor. This is largely a religious / faith matter. But every now again an Emperor must remind his Kings, Barons, Dukes, (read Planetary Governors) who is boss.

The whole imperium is held together by pledges of allegiance, faith and the occasional enforcement action. Without these elements the whole thing falls apart.

Feudalworld doesn't refer to the means of gouvernement it refers to the level of technology.

Look up the definition of the word feudal in your dictionary

As to "Why does the supplement need to be set on an Agri World?" the answer is, it doesn't *have* to be.

But, check out this list of "planet types" in the setting :http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Planets

Of the whole list, the only worlds the Adeptus Mechanicus would likely be directly concerned about would be:
- Agri Worlds (To feed the Forgeworlds)
- Mining Worlds (To supply the Forgeworlds)
- Forgeworlds

Any other world types will mainly involve other forces, and won't be *primarily* an Adeptus Mechanicus concern.

Plus, setting the story on an agri world allows for lots of wide open spaces, which allow for all sorts of "Battleship Fleets at Sea" type analogues in the storyline (With Titans and Gargants filling in for Battleships and Cruisers, etc).

Though a mining world could be interesting too.... what say you chaps, mining world or agri world?

The dictionary definition is irrelevant; lookup titan and it won't say large imperial walker.

Here's the wikia article on fedual worlds:

Quote:
These planets are populated by folk who have lost access to all but the most basic of technologies and maintain Iron Age or early Gunpowder Age societies. Farming, simple machines such as pulleys, windmills and the like are known, but propelled flight, automatic weaponry and powered vehicles are likely to be rare or non-existent. These worlds are often said to be the most politically harmonious of all the planets of the Imperium, because their peoples know their place.

It's about tech level, not politics. Yes, they're using the word in a sense not exactly that in the dictionary, but then grey knights have a power called holocaust...

GW just redefining words? That's unpossible!

Morgan Vening
- Holocaust is a perfectly cromulent name.

I like the Agri world idea E&C. Knights defending rural lands and pastures etc (or algae swamps) with serfs and peasants and the like in the mix conjures nice images of a "Brettonian" life to me - or even a Japanese/Asian feudal lifestyle if it's great ponds of algae (or rice) etc... It also means awesome heraldry could be painted for the Knights too. :D

if you're going orks, it should be on an agriworld (or just suck it up and put them directly on a forgeworld. an Admech defensive list made from skitarii and turrets would be pretty cool, with limited barrage weaponry (since they dont want to bomb their own robotfactories ya know)

but if you go nids, it has to be on a mining world (all those gribblies in the tunnels = joy)

i personally want a GSC list, but i can understand why orks are a better fit at the moment

The current version is here:

And has been here for a while....! :o ;)

I have a few relatively minor edits to make, and welcome any ideas and comments on it.
