Very nice detailing.
I like the addition of the soldiers on the Titan base.

Looking forward to more.

Cheers.

Ugh, terrible. No - just kidding! Those look really good for a first time!

I think the basing on the Titan looks fine, but I do think that the light grey on the Rhino's base doesn't contrast enough with the Rhino and its highlighting. It almost looks as if the base color is reflecting up to the model, though that may just be the lighting. I think the base color itself is fine with the blue vehicle, it is just that the highlighting on the vehicle "grounds" it with the base, where I think you'd want a contrast.

As for a fix, I really don't know, as I suck at color theory. Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

Damn! If this is indeed your 1st foray into miniature painting, you'll be knocking out some sweet looking models soon enough. These look great! Nice rhino.

I started off with only 3 paints, milthril silver/Imperial Purple & white. I had no brushes, just used some rolled up kitchen towel to a point. So you could imagine how bad my first models could of looked compared to yours.

;)

I wouldn't paint remove that!!! Get some of the excellent GW washes and drown it in Badab Black & Devlan Mud and it'll look way better.

Berzerkmonkey - yes, I think I'll experiment with some different shades and see how they turn out. I'm thinking a sandy yellow would be better.

I was thinking yellow, but I wasn't sure how you could pull that off on a base. You're right though - a "sandy" color is probably the way to go.

apart from epic, having done both LOTR and 40k (necromunda etc that size minis) with lots of basing involved I always found it useful to paint grey and wash with chestnut ink...it makes it look earth and muddy but still like they're stones...

Nicely done, elsmore, especially the Titans.
