Maybe I just have low patience, but I was attempting to assemble a Necron Monolith tonight, attempting being the key word here.  Did I have lots of homework to do for grad school?  Oh yes, yes I did, but I wanted to "relax".  I didn't want to work on Bayesian statistics, I wanted to "enjoy myself" and get some modeling done.

This thing was created by the devil, and it was a complete disaster.  The glue did not want to dry, except of course when it was bonding my flesh to the panels and miraculously traveling against grvity to do so.  Then you have to get the stupid panels to line up, or you will be spending lots of time plugging gaps with putty.

I got all four panels sort of together, noticed a gap, tried to adjust...boom, all 4 walls come unstuck, to which I respond in the appropriate way, smashing it with my fist, somehow managing to cut myself on the plastic in the process, blood everywhere.  So here I am, low on sleep, no monolith built, and no stats work done.

Anyone else have a good modeling rage story?

I painted a BloodBowl miniature that I had spent ages on, only to have the black paint tip and spill on it.

I do not remember the next 2 mins after that.

The paint eventually ended up in the bin and the miniature in Dettol.

Putting things down (models, tools, paint) and then instantly losing them is my main source of aggravation in this area currently. My bag of epic bases has been AWOL for a week now  :_(

Droped a single plastic marine into like coloured carpet. Spent ages 'patting' the carpet desperately searching for it, then I felt the rage, then I gave up and had a wee cry  :_(

(he was never seen again)

Many years ago I had a little accident with My First Titan and just couldn't manage to fix him so he ended up like this (was sad at the time):

Reactor breach!

I remember buying the Capitol Imperialis from my local GW years ago and getting it home, all excited at the prospect of assembling this meaty vehicle. However, this soon changed - I had an utter nightmare building this model.

For those who have worked with it, they'll know that it is a bit lopsided and a pain to put together and needs huge amounts of putty to fill in the gaps. Take this along with my, at the time, relative inexperience and you have a recipe for frustration. The side panels didn't sit on the tracks quite right, the roof didn't line up, the front panel looked off, the rear panel just wouldn't sit without looking wonky. Eventually I lost it and took a lump hammer to the front panel (partly frustration and partly to try to hammer off the huge amount of superglue and milliput on it). I swear, I used up half a tube of superglue before I gave up!

I've got grey carpet too. The other day in a hungover attempt to gather models and various stuff to go club gaming I accidentally knocked my compartmentalised box full of all my loose marines yet to be painted off the table. I thought the latches were done up. They weren't. The box opened and several hundred marines went all over the carpet. I haven't been game to count the survivors to make sure I still have enough for my projects :(

I had a situation somewhat like the last poster happen but it wasn't my fault.  I have my loose spare squats in an old plastc epic paladins box and I had brought it with me to the chicago bunker because I was going to base up another 9 stands of mole mortars.  I'm watching a 5k game of AMTL vs Steel Legion going on when one guy who is really annoying at the bunker was looking at my stuff which was sitting at a table,  goes to pick up the paladin's box by the sides thinking it's an old slide box.  It lifts up about 8 inches before the bottom comes out and all my spare squats land all over the floor.  I almost punched the guy for being an utter idiot.  I've told him to not touch my stuff before.  It took about half an hour to find all the stuff and we had to move a couple bunker tables to do it.

Sounds like you were using CA (superglue) instead of polystyrene cement.  That would explain much of the difficulty.

CA for plastic-to-plastic bonds is just a bad story waiting to get worse.

One of my more recent "worsts" was having the zimmerit peel right off of large sections on an E-100 I had in the final stages of painting.  Something didn't cure right, but it was a mess!
