Was there ever any mileage in some rules for solo epic play?

Warhammer Quest is the best solo system I've ever played. It's designed for multiple players as well, but in the basic version all the GMing is done by decks of cards, or by rolling on tables in the more advanced version, it's perfectly possible to play solo.

It's no different to playing a computer game solo, but most of the fun of tabletop/board games is the social aspect.

As a kid I ran a 'Solo' league with 12 teams in Blood Bowl

I got through 5 rounds (30 games) and then I got onto The PC game Heroes of Might and Magic.

Solo gaming is good as it challenges you to turn the board and try not to take sides - espacially when there is nothing to hide. Luck then becomes a major factor, and I always seemed to try and help the underdog at each half with setup plays.

Other games such as Arkham Horror can be played Solo, yet you really have to be committed (in completing it rather than the white room)

Ive pretty much only ever solo war-gamed ...but then i dont get out much

I played a lot of Panzer General against myself
because the game chrashed if I tried  the Computer  

I have done 2 games of epic against myself,
if I had a seperate gaming room,
I would play a game each week against me.

Just for unit/tactic testing
