Happy New Year EPIC Fans!
On the 27th January EPIC UK will be 1 year old. Here at EPIC UK Towers stocks of jelly and ice cream, party hats and ginger beer are being ordered. We can't believe it's been a year sinse five like minded EPIC tournament gamers put the world to rights, and built the EPIC UK empire you see before you. If you have a few moments this week, send us an email to wish us happy birthday, in return we would send you some of our jelly and ice cream ... but unfortunately it can't be sent via the internet (but we're working on it).
Now the New Year is upon us and that can only mean one thing…
Full Scale Assault: EPIC Tournament
27th March and a Gaming Day on the 28th March 2010
Its £7 for the one day event with three games (3,000 points) but no food (advise you to bring some with you; there are shops around the area but a little distance away). This is a great ‘one dayer’ to get you back into the swing of things after all those mince pies; all the information you could possibly require can be taken from our website, either download it or email us(
http://www.epic-uk.co.uk).
EPIC UK is also planning on holding another EPIC gaming day – 28th March 2009. This isn't a tournament; we book the hall all day and you can play any game of EPIC, any size! Last year we had 2x 10,000pt battles! It costs £4 to attend the gaming day and this can be booked on our website just like the tournament.
If you haven’t got a Paypal account, or you don’t like entering tournaments online, fear not! Email EPIC UK (go to
http://www.epic-uk.co.uk and click on the ‘contact us’ webpage) and let us know you want to enter this fantastic event and we will send you details on how to enter by cheque.
YOU CAN ENTER BOTH THE TOUNAMENT AND THE GAMING DAY!
To be guaranteed a place enter quickly, there are only 26 places for each event!
STOP PRESS - FREE FULL SCALE ASSAULT TICKET TO BE WON!
As EPIC UK are celebrating our first birthday we are feeling rather generous, so we've decided to allow one luckily person to win free entry to the Full Scale Assault tournament and gaming day. All you have to do is email:
tournaments@epic-uk.co.uk with your name and your answer to the below question; the closest answer will win the ticket...
As it's our first birthday, this question is all about firsts. EPIC UK released its first official Codex (Space Marines) on the 1st April 2009. How many downloads off this document occurred within the first month?
Please submit your answer by the 9th February 2010.
December at EPIC UK Towers seemed to have been our busiest month so far. However it wasn't busy for everyone ... up on the 2nd floor the 'Events Team' were kicking their heels, skateboarding down the corridors and generally annoying everyone. So, in the style of Top Gear, EPIC UK set a challenge for them. As EPIC UK has just finished updating the core army lists from the EPIC Armageddon rulebook, we wanted to celebrate this fact with a 'Big Game'.
The events team pondered, and then pondered a little more if I'm honest, and eventually came back with 'Operation Supermarket - Allotment'. This was an EPIC take on 'Operation Market - Garden', and on Monday 28th December 2009 seven EPIC players met up at a cold Warhammer World to perform this mightily re-enactment of titanic proportions.
There is a battle report on the EPIC UK website so pop along and have a read of that; for now, all I will say is that I can't remember the Allies, in 1944, meeting a Great Gargant at Nijmegen.
And finally the boffins at EPIC UK Towers have been locked in the basement all Christmas writing the '2009 performance report'. This document (if you would like a copy please email us and we will send one to you) details EPIC UK's performance for 2009 and what we can do to improve things going into 2010. Overall EPIC UK is overjoyed by how 2009 went and are looking forward to the 2010 season.
Now, back to the Ginger Beer!
Thank you
