first no radar is not a british invention it was invented almost simultaneously in Britain germany and italy but Britain was the first country that saw the full potential  and build the first interlinked radar defense system

second the ballistic missile is not a german invention  it is actually a Russia/american invention back in 1908 with vasiliovskys launch

third the white brothers was not the first to fly a german flue a variety of gliders all the way back in 1880's but yes the white brothers had actually cracked the code by combining the crazy german's control system and the Vinkler light engine system (a ulltra light benz engine)

and lastly the tank is not a british invention either it is actually it was a mad American inventor but yes it was his majesties armed forces that payed for the research

The Wright Brothers actually built their own engine (out of sand-cast aluminum, no less) and they used a wind tunnel to refine and correct some of the the widely held tenets of aerodynamics at that time. And while their original flyer might not have been anything to write home about, it was their 3rd airplane that really got everything going.

But, just like Columbus didn't really discover America (seeing as how there were already people here when he showed up), the fact is that being the first person to do something doesn't mean all that much.

It's the people that do it the most and do it the best that actually make a difference (and are therefore important). But, of course, even those people will never get true credit because it's the unscrupulous self promoters that get the most press.

Perception has always trumped reality. I mean, Khufu wasn't an architect or an engineer, but he's the one that gets credit for the great pyramid. It wouldn't even surprise me if he was just some slick salesman that came along a few years later and inscribed his name on it like I used to do on all my CDs.

sorry by the typo i meant the Wright Brothers but it was late and i was tiered (and i am style dyslectic) but actually the general conception by people is that the wright was the first to do heavier the air flight witch is so wrong and yes they really mad some good planes afterwards there so called first flight (it was a journalist that invented the whole story and the wright brothers was extremely pissed off when they found out what was written in the article but then the cat was out of the bag and the news had traveled the world twice) it is these kind of thing i was opposing some journalist running a story that witch is more or less total fiction and by time and repetition it becomes fact like the british radar story or the wright brothers or the werner von brown story
