There doesn’t seem to be that much 6mm fantasy out there? Having brought a couple of packs of 6mm undead from irregular miniatures I think I can easily see myself buying a whole army, but which rules would be suitable to use with them? Is there a tac-com style forum/site for 6mm fantasy?

HOTT seems to be used, but all the links to sites that sell the rules area dead

Also are there other 6mm fantasy model suppliers are out there, baccus aside?

If there was a proven market, then we'd manufacture them :).

O, it seems irregular have a wide range of 6mm fantasy, which looks to be of very low quality with no images for most of their products, anyone got experience with these?

Warmaster rules should work if you don't mind 40x20 bases for 6mm.

Check out microworld games' new 6mm line: www.microworldgames.com.

Also Bacchus and Ros/Heroics have good ancients/humies.

I'm attempting to create a bigger market for 6mm fantasy, but I'm failing miserably (so far).  I think people are just really married to the whole 10mm thing for warmaster and such. Personally, I don't like the general lack of detail on some of irregular's fantasy models, hence I am making my own.  The next army I'm releasing is Beastmen/Minotaurs, after that probably Lizardmen followed by Dwarves.  I'm not sure if I can squeeze a 4th release into 2010, but by year end 2010 I should have 7 complete armies out which I don't think is too shabby.

I considered writing my own rules and such to help stimulate the project a bit, but I have no experience with game design, so I find the whole thing a bit daunting.

As far as I know there are no sites out there for just 6mm fantasy gaming.  As for rule sets, you could use Impetus Fantasy, Warmaster fantasy, Mighty Armies, HOTT, or one of the various incarnations of Fantasy Rules!.  I haven't decided what game to play yet, I'm waiting for someone to come up with a system with an army creation tool.  I've been waiting for Mighty Armies to do that for a while now.  I think Ganesha Games (Song of Blades and Heroes company) said they were putting out a Mass Battle game with a creation system some time in 2010, so I guess we will see about that.

I don't think he plays fantasy, just modern/sci-fi.

Thedespot may have had more success in providing proxies for Feral Orks and Grots -- somewhat to his chagrin.

6mm fantasy/historicals is tempting... but I am one of those still stuck on Warmaster 10mms.

I do like the looks of Impetus and Impetus fantasy.

6mm ancients is fairly common back in London. I think they use warmaster ancients?

Oops sorry for the confusion, in the first post where id said that id just brought a few packs from irregular, i meant micro world games :;): at that stage the irregular site was still about 20 tabs down my browser

I dont have much fantasy at any scale currently (small amout of WFB, a BoFA box) so im not tied to a larger scale.

Thanks for the pointers, i look forward to seeing more microword armies despot :agree:
