At least my mates army looks cool on the table.  Just ask Chroma.

yes that AMTL lists must have had a deep psychosocial impact on some, cause they are still playing against it, even though nobody really uses them now..

The current AMTL list is far less powerful, thankfully. Feel free to check it out some time.

Thanks for the feed back thefloppy1, and yes that is a tough list, if you were not going to take a list like that what other kind of list are you liking?

I am going to take Minervan IG list.   I was really struggling to get everything in time.  I tried a couple of different variants of the Templar list, but each time the Nyds ate them.  Couldn't do enough clipping damage to the formation to make the assaults work with both the termie's, Assualt marines, and SwordBretheren.

I do like the BT list it has some nice options, I like to mount the Sword Bretheren in Crusaders, if I play ground based list, infact everything gets mounted, with razorbacks, and at least one crusader in each foramtion, still take a Thunder hawk normally with Assault marines in it.

The only reason I didn't take this list was I didn't think I would receive it all in time.  As it turned out I got all the thunderhawks and landraiders on the same day the lists were due.

oh well.

This list will be used at Cancon in 2010 as the bye army.

Pulsar: What's the verdict on the Sword Brethren formation? They seem kind of pricey from a theory-hammer perspective.

I think Pulsar's stepped back from working on the Templars, and has handed over to Hena.

There wasn't a smooth hand-off. However, that's been resolved.

So... anyone else had experience with the Sword Brethren?

The reason I ask is that consensus opinion on larger Assault Marine formations seems to be 250 for 6. Brethren are better in FF, have Infiltrate instead of Jump Packs and, of course, come with transport. Given that BT has become a de facto uber-air-assault list, Sword Brethren are every bit as good in an initial assault, have similar mobility for Engage and better FF for follow-on actions. The downside is they aren't nearly as good at objective grabs or positioning to support an assault (when not Engaging themselves).

That's definitely better but I think a 75 point bump might be a bit much.

Another field of comparison is to the CC-oriented, non-jump-pack SM formations in other armies like Grey Hunters and Ravenguard Assault. Sword Brethren are better than those units (Infiltrate over GH and also better stats over RG), but they seem a bit high compared to those as well.

In our testing we found them really good.

Your opinion is that 325 is accurate? Or that it's close enough not to change without further evidence?

325 is probably good for the moment.

Those free Rhinos are good for an outnumbering bonus following being dropped in by transporter.
