Thanks!
I'm not sure exactly how much time I spent making them as they were started a month ago and then lay unfinished for a while. Not too radical conversion work though.
The force weapons are just pieces of plastic rod, pointed and with cuts to make the blade. Other units were equipped with the axe from the Techmarine, swords from the SM Commander and a storm bolter from the old plastic dreadnought. To attatch the weapons I had to remove the original bolter and/or powerglove, glue on the weapon and add a small sausage of Green Stuff for the arms. (this is the fiddly part. :p ). Then the banner from the SM commander was added to one Terminator on each stand.

The finished miniatures were undercoated white (!) then a thin layer of mithrill silver. Then the mini was washed with thinned down Regal Blue. When this was dry the high detail areas (torso, legs and head was washed with black. Then a highlight of Mithril Silver again. All areas to be painted gold was first given an undercoat of scortched brown before being painted with Shining Gold. Then again a thin shade of thinned down black and snakebite leather. Weapons were painted black. To add some colour the small "shoulder shields" were painted directly onto the shoulder pad of each terminator with a fancy red (cuz red wunz go fasta... uh, oh, sorry). Finally the banners were painted with a mix of snakebite leather and bleached bone and highlighted into bleached bone.

Took some time but for a small elite unit like this I think it is well worth the effort. -Wouldn't want to do an entire army this way though :l  :p  (though I suspect there may very well be some of you out there with plans of doing just that :;): )

"Indeed"   You are impressive at "fiddling". I tried to make a wreath of laurels from Green Stuff for my converted emperor's champion (to represent the Iron Halo) in 40k scale and the result is, at best, passable.  :(

to continue this thread (as well as the Grot Bomb Launcha - see other thread) here it what I am working on at the moment

okay this is still a work in progress

it is still slightly glossy due to the chestnut ink, but this will "disappear" when I have highlighted and varnished

this looks better in the photograph then it does in real life!

and yes I know it is not epic, but I have put some of my FW Ork Battlewagons together as well!

Hi all,
I'm working on my 40k Sons of Janus Space Marines' colour scheme (black/white/red), Warhammer flying vampires (!) and army, Gothic currently on hold but tempted by Orks, and in Epic, currently, and thanks to this forum, my most active modelling area, (1) fiddling with a Rhino to find the right colour for the Ares Guard marines (2) constructing a Bad Moons Gargant (Deffsta) and - most importantly - (3) Thundabad 1, my first (and currently only) Ork Landa - presently being painted.  :D

cheers.

...Hmm, your link didn't work for me Kr00za... ?:L

Have a look in the Epic section of my Yahoo Briefcase for pics of what I did this weekend- finished some FW Nightspinners.... Despite not choosing the most photogenic paint scheme for my Eldar, I think you get the idea! ?:;): Feel free to copy them for De'Aynes Chris- btw, when is the update happening? ????

After the PSI titan I wanted to make something easily finishable and quick for a change and started a Squat Grand Battery. I based all of the Thudd Guns and Mole Mortars and painted a base coat of boltgun metal. So far I've painted the carriage of the guns green and added some bronze details. I also drilled the gun barrels open. I did the same to the Mortars before realizing their business end points DOWN instead of up like the regular mortars.

My Emperor's champion conversion for 40k is actually progressing. During the weekend I lengthened his sword blade for about 1,5 centimeters. Now I'll just have to lengthen the handle and add a pommel and then I'll finally be able to start painting!
