just reading through HOnda's Tau vs SH batrep, which lead me to check out the SH list. Is there any reason why Farseers have to take the stats of the jetbike/vyper they're on? They don't take the Guardian stats when on foot and the jetbike stats really nerf their EA+ MW attack (at 6+). Just wondering..

Because a Farseer in other Craftworld armies is a full unit, Farseers and Warlock bodyguard, while in Saim-Hann it's a Farseer *character* added to a Jetbike or Vyper unit.

So, it's a Farseer that moves at 35cm and just doesn't hit quite as hard, still has all the other abilities that make a Farseer good.

To be honest, close combat is probably the *last* place I'd want a Farseer to be... their other abilities are much more useful to me than a single MW attack.

fair enough. As for the MW attack - I've had a lot of use out of it, once even took down a warhound with one :) Then again, I usually have 4 guardian fms, so I'm not often lacking a farseer...

Another curiousity - why do Wild Riders have Leader? Other than the Seer Council and Autarchs, by virtue of being SCs, I can't think of any other Eldar unit/ character that has Leader and it's a pretty useful thing for Eldar to have.

Saim-Hann Wild Rider clans are much more "independent" and "self-reliant" than other Eldar, so having leader is a representation of that.

And no other Eldar units, beside supreme commanders and battle Titans, have leader.

It remains a massive boost for these chaps though. Harder to cost as a rsult to. Surely the army that will be jumping down your throat doesn't ned the leader boost to make this a more certain event?

hmm, guess that fits in with the lower SR too. Still, somewhat at odds with the rest of the Eldar lists though.

Have learnt something though - Phantoms and Warlock titans have Leader. Never realised that :)

Titans did not have 'leader' in the original Swordwind. It was added in an attempt to compensate for the loss of Spirit Stones.

Yes because they should have the option to go in either Jetbikes of Vypers (the more recent W40k lists only let you have them in jetbikes I believe).
