Nice stuff Jimbo! The Daemonhunters stuff is looking waaaaaaaay cool.
Also, something I have been meaning to ask you, how did you create the water on the boards where the Ork River Monitors are? The effect is amazing!
Cheers
Chris

...and was very very easy to do.
I did this for my painting competition entry and it is in fact only a sheet of A4 (US peeps read Letter).
Originally I had planned to use a sheet of clear plastic and paint blue underneath, but ran out of time.
So I went to Microsoft Office Clip Art Gallery Online used the search engine to look for photos of water - the image I used is ? j0144301.jpg
I then imported the image into Publisher and printed it off on my HP printer onto ordinary paper.
Placed the boat on top of the paper and snapped the photograph!
Really simple really.
Came out a lot better then I thought it would.

And here's me thinking that you have full boards of the stuff Jimbo! Nice effect though...
Warmaster Nice - To post pictures you need to have your own bit of webspace to host them. Then to add a picture to your post, click the Image button on the post screen (Far right from the http button) In there simply write the URL of where your picture is! It will then show in your post. Cheers
Chris

I will probably use the DesignJet at work to create a 4' by 2' print out of the water and stick it on a board of some kind

Darn! I don't have any webspace ... Oh well I guess I just have to get some... (as a matter of fact my Internet-provider does include server space for ones private website for free but I just havent done anything about it yet) ...guess I know what to do on my Sunday then...
I just finished the Grey Knight Terminators and the Inquisitor this evening so I thought I'd put up the pics but it has to wait then. Thanks again for the help Chris.
Cheers!

I tried to flock the base of the PSI titan yesterday. Not too succesful; I diluted the PVA glue far too much. Plus the sawdust I used has probably too large grain size.
On a more positive note; I made my first tabard yesterday. It is for the Emperor's champion I am converting from a Space Marine Captain (the one on the right). I am quite pleased of how it turned out and will post pictures when I have painted it.
So now you know: I am a closet Wharhammerist.

Mojarn,
Here's a post from AIW-Wargaming ? AIW (Arab-Israeli Wars) Wargaming
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AIW-Wargaming/message/294
Peter, Geert, Bob, Marcel and Gang,
I use two main techniques for everything from Mars terain to Sinai desert terrain:
- Vallejo Accessories - Piedra Pomez - Tub - Putty with sand
- Watered down glue (PVA), which then textured over with sand or the shavings (metal filings) and debris left-over from cleaning models up (gives a nice urban debris and grit texture).
I often add in small chunks cut from plastic (or metal) sprue and small packaging items (like the plastic ties and tags from clothing).
I occasionaly use flock, but prefer the look of dirt / sand. I sometimes add foliage (foliage clusters). Small twigs look good, but I usually save them for terrain rather than model bases.
I've become an expert at collecting packaging and ex-toy bric-a-brac that looks good at scenery. A dollar's (or pound's) worth of plastic cars cut apart so that it's hard to tell they were toy autos any more make great industrial rubble. It may sound funny, but it works!
RR ballast makes great rocks / boulders / talus. Kitty litter is a bit big, but also works well.
What do you guys use?
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |
Best regards, Maksim.

Quote (Warmaster Nice @ 09 2003 Nov.,09:50) | After goofing about for a while and making several unsuccessfull posts I 've finally managed to post a few of the pics as promised (...at least I hope it works this time ? )
Just click on the links to see my epic Inquisitor and Grey Knights. Like I said these are HEAVILY inspired by Tuffskulls excellent competition entry (some might say stolen ) but after seeing them I just had to try and make some of my own. I must say that I'm quite surprised and happy with the result of the metallics as I have no experience painting Daemonhunters from 40k but still used the Codex for reference. Enjoy! Epic minis.
Cheers | Cant see the pics warmaster! I really want to see what you've come up with for the GK

I can see them, and they are looking VERY amazing! Nice work Warmaster. If you have no objections, could I use them for De'Aynes?
Cheers
