Some of you may know and some of you may not but I thought I'd share that I've just purchased a 42ft Ex R.A.F Sea Plane Tender for living on in Bristol Harbour!  I'm dead happy about this and seeing as some forum members are friends as well as gamers I wanted to let people who want to know more or keep up to date that I've STARTED A BLOG! The Wargaming Waterman is your one stop shop to find out all you need to know about my life aboard.

And, yes, before any one asks, I can fit a gaming table on board!
Ciao,
Ryan.

Teredo?!? Good grief! Shipworm! :

Hahah! Yeah i Know!

The last owner named it after the Bristish Submarine HMS Teredo...which was named after a Wood eating sea worm! Toredo: To Bore! I was going to rename her but as soon as i discovered the irony around it's current name i had to keep it

Before you worry about the stove and bathroom, you need a hat:

And more importantly, a buckler of swashes:

This is cool, you are one interesting guy. (no-homo)

The same thing happened to me except it was the wench not the hat...

Damn and blast you Mr Christian! there'll be no mutiny aboard MY ship! You need to fix a plank on the side, for unwelcome visitors. And make a cannon, yeah, cannons are cool.

Most excellent!

I have to say if I lived on a boat I wouldn't be able to resist fitting a cannon to the front.

I though the term was "head"... but, then I realised if we visited Mok we would be pooing in his head and that's just wrong. :oo:

Don't aquatic mammals just go?

Doesn't a ship have a poop deck? Or so I've heard...  :p  Seriously, his FAQ has an answer already.

Can you stand up in the boat?
How do you get internet access?
Have you devised a cunning retractable painting/modeling area?
Will you miss having a garden (if you ever had one)?
Do you have to pay council tax?
And finally, when they aren't on strike, how does the postman find you? :)

You'd be suprised the amount of people that ask me to fit weapons...they're mainly wargamers and Germans...
Pooing question is already on the blog  :)

TRC: straight onto blog the FAQ they go! (though typed here for ease of use!)

Can you stand up in the boat? Yep, though anyone over 6' may have a little difficulty in some areas.
How do you get internet access? Luckily I currently live next to a telephone pole; it's a simple case of phoning BT and getting a wire bought accross :-)
Have you devised a cunning retractable painting/modeling area? Nope...i've made sure to have enough space for a permanent workbench
Will you miss having a garden (if you ever had one)? Maybe...our last garden was pretty bigh and we grew vegetables...here i'll manage some potted plants and herb beds though.
Do you have to pay council tax? I can't answer that question ;-)
And finally, when they aren't on strike, how does the postman find you? I have PO box and pick my mail up from a nearby post office.

and Another question:

Do you need insurance for the boat? Yes. To moor my boat in Bristol Harbour requires third party liability up the the value of 1 Million Pounds. It'll cost me about £70 a year. For the first time ever i'm also considering contents insurance as all my worldy goods will be on board!

'Water damage? What happened?'

'Well, my house sunk.'
