I think costing the Monoliths over 90 points is a mistake.  275 for three is a stretch as it is (91.67 each) so making them that much more expensive would IMO be a bad way to go.

Mosc and I agree here; 300 points is definately too much for 3 monoliths. I'm still unsure that 275 isn't too much.

I am thinking it might be a bit too expensive actually which is why I was thinking 270 from the outset.  Deviating from 25 point increments doesn't bug me with this list since there are so many ways to plug the holes, like Dave mentioned.  

However, we need to playtest something and 275 for 3 Monoliths strikes me as the way to go.

Now, go get the data, troops!  Playing rules, talking drools.   :)   Let's get some feedback for the Champ and get this bad boy leveled off once and for all.

couldn't dave's stats be alterred to read 35 points to upgrade to a monolith? that would be 270 for the 3M. which would be more in line w/ the previous suggestion.

Hmmm, that isn't bad either.  I think that those 5 point increments will add up too.  For now let's see how the 275 works but if it turns out that the Necrons are getting hammered we can take that suggestion and price it accordingly.  Fair enough?

So?  Let them post.  I am not a push over and neither is Corey.  This isn't a democracy and the Champ still makes the call.  Plus, I'd like to think we're all wise enough to figure out what is working and what isn't.

Don't fret.  We'll give this a whirl and hopefully not have to worry about these playtests come next year.

You would deserve it you teleporting scum (sorry I'm still at a loss to beat them with Imperial guard. The second the army gets strung out it gets jumped and not enough speed to wait for later turns).

As a side note has anyone tried to play necrons so that they just draw? So turn up turn three to contest and not lose on vp's?

That's risky, as any broken formations phase out and count as destroyed.

Yup.  I think I have played the Necron to a win on points one time only.  The rest of the time they won on objectives.  I like that about the list - it forces the Necron player to be mindful of the tournament rules and makes it more challenging.

As ever, draw-forcing armies will never win tournaments, and will be pretty boring to play...

Its not that Ben, some armies will get crucified by teleporters. Others will be to tough to fight. If you get 3 big wins and 2 VP wins that could well be first place.

With Strategy Rating 2 locked in now, the Necron teleport wave is at much more of a disadvantage these days.

Ah, still have the ctan bomb? :)

Anyway, how do people find performance vs different armies. I find with Guard I curse the air blue, with marines I;m fine and with orks it depends on the list.

I think Pylons should have a 150cm range, TKd6. Also, Tomb Spyders should have +3 MW CC attacks.

There, that should help sales nicely.
