CC2+ compared to CC3+ of the Reaver.

Thanks...now I need to figure out the upgrades and then come up with a sensible Backstory that won't offend smurfs (boohoo).

Edit: I've got a Battlegroup list going down, and the last 400 pts of extra is open with one open support slot.

Do I take a Single Warhound, and then take a Vet Princeps, with giving 3 multilasers to the 3 Reavers, or do I take a Unit of Forge Knights?

Edit2: Adding the extra cost for CCW, atleast the changes didn't change everything into Bizzaro world

Reaver: Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Blaster Cannon, Laser Blaster: 675 pts

Reaver: Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Close Combat Weapon, Laser Blaster: 675 pts

Reaver: Volcano Cannon, Gatling Blaster, Laser Blaster: 700 pts

Warhound Pack: Warhound Turbolaser Destructor, Plasma Blastgun, Warhound Turbolaser Destructor, Vulcan Megabolter: 550 pts.

Thunder Bolt squadron (2 Thunderbolts): 150 pts

2615, what should I take and is this good for a starter?  I would have to cut out one of the upgrades for a cheaper weapon to take the Forge Knights

You may want to drop an upgrade or two from the Reavers in order to split up the Warhounds into two single warhounds rather than one pack, as you're short on independent formations.

Good idea...I just don't know which one to drop.

Although, I was going to take a third Warhound, I have an extra 410 points to spend out of this, I was actually setting the pts to 3000.

As you mentioned, Forge Knights are a possibility. For 3000 points I try to have at least six activations.

For practicality sakes and not rule of cool (why am I here then?)

Would a third Warhound be better with some minor upgrades to the Reavers, or should I take a unit of Forge Knights instead?  I would like your opinion on the matter.

Forge Knights would add some cool variety.

Variety is wonderful, it's the spice that seems to be missing from my previous army.

Any ideas for how to scheme them for a Chaos Pattern?  Anywho, how much of a difference would have it been if I put a Vet princeps and 3 multilaser's into the Reavers if I opted to take a Lone Warhound instead of the Forge Knights?

I'm sorry if I'm nagging, but I like working out kinks rather quickly than let it sit on a few days, especially now that I'm looking into colleges.

Forge Knights would add some cool variety.

Yes, they would and they can be a fairly resilient formation. They can also be really nasty in close combat.    (I really wish we still had the winking emoticon!)

Better yet, play it both ways - one game with another Warhound and another game with the Forge Knights.

That too

Edit: How do you gentlemen go about naming your Titans?

Do you just throw random cool names in a Latin generator or you try to go with something similar to your Legion name?

The only titan I've so far named was my Imperator, the Ultima Ratio. I derived the name from "Ultima Ratio Regum" (last argument of Kings), which Louis XIV had inscribed on his cannon.

The trouble with naming your titans is you can get too attached to them and it hurts when they get blown up.

While we're asking for advice on AMTL armies, I have a question. Once my (long delayed) order arrives from GW, I will have two Reaver titans: one standard configuration, and one with two Quake Cannons and a CLP. I also have a couple of Warlords and four Warhounds. I was planning to do a third Reaver, but am not sure what weapons configuration would be more useful: Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Gatling Blaster and Volcano Cannon (like Forge World's Epic Reaver), or Apocalypse Missile Launcher, Gatling Blaster and Laser Blaster (like Forge World's W40k Reaver). Which would people recommend? Or would something else be a better choice than either?

I would do one of each, but I currently have only one Gatling Blaster spare.

I like both configs, but reckon that the W40k config looks cooler.
