I'm having a hard time remembering which army lists are official at this point and which are still majorly experimental.  I'm planning on running the EA Adepticon tournament for 2010 and was going to attempt to limit at least some of the cheese by limiting races to official lists where possible as this last year 3 of the 4 players (the local guys) had all brought rulebook lists (2 swordwind Eldar and a Space Marines) and the last guy brought an Ulthwue list and rolled over all of them mainly because of the preponderance of Reinforced Armor in the version of the list he was using (I believe it was the old version from the SG Vault but I couldn't be sure since I was running the BFG tournament while the Epic was being run)

Right now as I remember,  the official lists are the 6 from the 2 books, Black Legion and Lost and the Damned for sure.

Yeah, any that are in the books from the GW websites are the official lists

All others are too powerful*



*that last comment was sarcasm

EVERYTHING else is experimental or fan-based... and some would dispute the FW Tau list, I'm sure!

But, just because things are "experimental" or "fan-based", doesn't mean they're bad!  The Dark Eldar Army List in EPIC: Raiders is quite balanced and fun to play with and against.  Most of the other Craftworld lists are also "good to go"... not sure where an Ulthwe list was getting a preponderance of reinforced armour compared to the Biel-Tan list as it gets less support formations and can't take a Void Spinner.

The NetEA Project is working on a document with "ready for play" armies concisely listed, to be released in the near future.

You know what,  I was getting my craftworlds mixed.  It was whichever one is the one that uses the most wraithguard/wraithlords.  

That being said,  I will probably be allowing Raiders for Adepticon.  I was just concerned with the fact that none of the local guys had any fun playing against that guy from out of town and part of it was his list.
