Whatever happened to the automated restock emails? :S. I need to go beat up the web developer... wait a minute? Isn't that me?

On the banners: Depends for what they are? Are this Company Standarts? Then paint them like the Sixtinian Chapel (i know you can do this *points at the Epic sized bionic eye*) or so

If it is only for denoting the Detachment number i suggest copying the old Dark Angels Sergeants Backbanner.
The miniature is new but the banner is the old 3rd Edition style:

OK. I think the two tactical formations are prety much complete now. I still haven't decided on the bases, but I think I'll just leave them plain like this for the time being (partially also because I can't remember where I put my static grass, and I'm not really in the mood to dig around looking for it :p )

Closeup photos of the  individual stands to follow at a later date.

Next up the Rhinos to fulfill this month's quota.

They look fantastic!

Those flags really make the models stand out as well. Great work WN

Thanks guys :)

Progress on the Rhinos. Basic colors done. Just need to add some iconography. I'm unsure werther to add any weathering to these models. I think it would look messy on the infantry but the vehicles should look ok. However I'm not really convinced that it is a good idea to have weathered vehicles and mint looking infantry mixed together.

Added some unit designations and company markings to the front of the Rhinos. Two decisions to be made:

1: Roof hatches: Add a Dark Angels icon transfer? It is quick and looks more precise than if I hand painted it for sure. However the decal will also cover the recesses in the hatch which goes a bit against my principle not to obscure any details unnecessarily. Of course it is also an option to leave the roof hatch blank or with a red diagonal stripe to signify the company designation

2: I got some of the tiny FW etched brass eagles. Painted right they could be quite passable as a Dark Angels icon for the front armor. ...But then again I could also just paint it on, even if this is a bit more bothersome.

Opinions?

You could always cut the decal in half with a good hobby knife....?

Won't by that simple; Rhino top hatches have inny outy bits. Perhaps adding a transfer and paint a thin black (or whatever dark shading colour) where it joins could work?

Another option might be to split the decal in half and then mount it with a space in the middle to avoid the "inny outy bits". It should still be recognizable as a DA symbol that way. Of course there's also the really insane method, which is to cut the contour of the door into a piece of plasticard and then use that as a guide to slice the decal for a perfect fit. Knowing the delicacy of the GW decals though, I've got a strong feeling that most of the will just break up in the process.

Use a product called Micro Sol. It dissolves the decal film and makes it form fit into whatever it is on. Decal looks painted on. I use it often and it kicks ass.

Fantastic work, Warmaster. I had almost forgotten about your awesome Termie conversions. The infantry really stands out on the Graveyard Earth base.

Sounds very nteresting!

Anyone know of a European supplier of this? Or some similar product.

I remember many years ago I used a product by Testors for decals. It smelled like vinegar and it is entirely possible that it was in fact viegar. I thik it was supposed to have roughly the same effect, though, to be honest, I don't recall it being very effective. I'm guessing it works something like drain cleaning fluid (not sure of the english term here) I know that stuff will clean stuff like hair clogging your bathroom drain by dissolving some of the stuff that makes hair stiff, making it sort of gelatinous. It might be worth a shot to try out a couple of different household products on some spare decals to see how it works.
