Interesting is that all CC-weapons for Eldar Titans and Gargands have some kind of shooting attack in addition to their CC-abilities. Only the Imperial Power Fist can't shoot.

And yes. There is no excuse NOT to get hold of an addition Titan model :D You never will have enough Titans

And any ideas for the Chaos Warlord Titan? Guess he will loose Inspiring too.

Grabbing a Forgeworld Reaver Titan (Gatling Blaster, Volcano Cannon, Apocalypse Missile Launcher) and swapping the Volcano Cannon for a CCW of some sort would seem to be the easiest way to do it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

And if FW decide to discontinue their Reaver, I've got the Gatling Blaster from my old one spare, so it still wouldn't be too difficult using the metal model.

And yes. There is no excuse NOT to get hold of an addition Titan model :D

Well, that's decided then!

So any ideas fotr a Chaos Walrod Titans weapon loadout? I have a kHorne Warlord Titan with Carapace mounted Turbo-Laser Destructors and Vortex Missile and Arm mounted Gatling Blaster and Titan CC-Weapon but i guess this is not everybodys preference :D

So i guess Chaos Titans love it to go close and personal with their victims to see and "feel" how they suffer and die. Blowing up tanks might not be gory enough for them but shredding droves of infantry in a chain of bloddy bits with a Vulcan Megabolter might be much more satisfying.
So how about exchanging both Carapace mounted Turbo-laser Destructors for Vulcan Megabolters? Yes it's a downgrade (compared to the War Gryphons points cost) but might be more characterful.
The Gatling Blaster can be kept. Not sure about the Volcano Cannon. Same as Codex Space Marines the Red Corsairs have a lack of Titan Killer weapons. Ok the Chaos Reaver now will have a Titan Killer CC-Weapon but there is no ranged Titan Killer weapon other than for the Chaos Warlord Titan.
Perhabs a Melta Cannon? Or Plasma Destructor?

Thoughts?

Depends on what god the Titan is devoted to BlackLegion, I imagine that Slaaneshi and Khornate titan's get their kicks in ripping appart enemies at close range, but Nurgle and Tzeentch probably wouldn't care either way. Personally I favour taking a ballanced approach with your Titans, and leaving the possibility for your warlord to posses ranged attack strength.

But thats just me, its certainly my intent with Nurgle/Khorne Titans that they will operate at polar oposit distances because it captures the character of the two seperate gods - if you want something undivided you want something to stands between both likely - because really most Titans are war engines and they couldn't care less how they kill so long as they kill in gross.

Well as the troops in this list (apart form the real Cult Marines and god specific daemon engines) the Titans have only Marks of Chaos. They aren't absolute extremists nutters like the Cult Marines.
But i don't want to have one configuration for each Chaos God. Basically you could see the Chaos Titans as having the Mark of Chaos Glory/are dedicated Undivided.

Going for a Melta Cannon would make the Warlord a fairly dedicated assault monster, and a frightening one at that. Sticking with the Volcano cannon would give it a bit more flexibility, and allow the army more opportunity to put down Titan-killer fire where it's needed. Not sure about the Plasma Destructor.

Presumably the 2xVMB+GB+VC or 2xVMB+GB+MC would only be 800 points, which would be nice since it would leave just enough room for some Hellblades in a 3k-point army.

How about a Plasma Destructor, a CCW, and a pair of Inferno Guns or Vulcan Megabolters?

800pts under the current AMTL points costs, 825 if the CCW goes to +25pts.

Hehe the sight of a Chaos Warlord by night spewing flames and plasma has something
Not sure about the CC-Weapon because he is quite slow ansd the Chaos Reaver will already have one. And who would dare to voluntarily CC a Warlord with 8 CC2+ and 3 TK(D3)CC2+ attacks?

Bringing short-ranged weapons like Inferno Guns or Melta Cannon to bear will be harder on a slow unit like Warlord, too, although not so much as a CCW.

As an aside, I notice that the Chaos Hunter is listed as having armour 4+ where the Imperial version has only 5+. Is that an error or have you deliberately upgraded the Chaos version?

Well at least VMBs and IGs have ranger 30cm :)

The Hunter should have Armour 5+ as it's imperial counterpart. Thanks for spotting this :)

Yeah, but it'd be awesome. :))

Hey, as I was away from Tac Comms for several months, I completely missed the development of this list.

I've got to say a big thank you to everyone who has been working on it, as I think it's great  :))    It's great to have an army list that reflects the current 40k Chaos Codex, and thus my 40k Chaos Army.  I'm very much looking forward to getting my Epic Chaos Marine army together to give it a try...

I just have a quick query, nothing major (infact I wouldn't be surprised if it's already been covered, but I don't have time to wade through the entirety of this thread at the moment!):

I just wondered what the reasoning was behind giving these renegade Space Marines Dreadclaws as opposed to normal Drop Pods?  I know that it doesn't make a huge difference in regards to gameplay, but it does strike me as strange after the decision to give them a Chaos Strike Cruiser and Chaos Thunderhawk.  If they're still using some of the normal Marine equipment, why not Drop Pods too?

I just wondered what the thinking was behind this decision?  Thanks!

Don't worry! The Chaos Drop Pod will be added in the next version and will replace the Dreadclaw. :)

Ha!  :))  Well like I said, it's no big deal really gameplay wise - I'll be using Drop Pod models regardless.
