Yeah I know what you're saying BL, I'm just not keen on flooding the list with every type of Khorne War engine just yet. Future versions could include them.

Now the recent changes are included I updated the first page of the thread for the latest Doc. It will also have any changes for the future so they're all in one place

Apologies to everyone for all the errors etc. I'm still coming to grips with writing a list.  :blush:

Ah! Just remembered: The FW Brass Scorpion is rumoured to be a Greater Brass Scorpion which 3DC and the Scorpion Cannon with identical stats to a Vulcan Megabolter but with lower range (so just as now but with more shots).

No worries. When the actual stats come out we can debate whether to upgrade the current design or have both etc..

I've been looking at the design of the warband theory myself lately and have come up with a couple of options that could be inlcuded.

I like Frogbear's idea of naming Retinues as Warbands - it's much more grunty - so consider it done.

Black Legion, you may be a happy camper as I've flipped my thinking on your idea and I think I've come up with a way to incorporate your favourite unit - the Slaughterfiend. Instead of adding them to a retinue we could simply have them in their own formation and add berzerker units to them:

Slaughterfiend Pack - 4 Slaughterfiends and 4 World Eaters Berzerkers = 300500 points???
This way they are integral of their own formation. I think I'd just need the exact stats and cost them correctly. Any ideas? Where did you get your stats for them?


My other optional idea I've been considering is the Blood Slaughterer. At the moment I think we could have both an upgrade of 1-2 to a retinue and a free-standing formation of 4. They could help beef up a foot Zerker formation and they could fill out the ground-based units for a Drop list if players choose that option.

What would these things be costed at? I have them down in WE 1.1.1 as approx. 83 odd points. Would 60-75 a piece be too low a cost for them? I was thinking 4 for 250-300 perhaps? They're a little better than a WE Dreadnought(50 points) but I don't think as good as a Khorne Defiler(costed at 100 right now, at least)

Anyway these are my recent thoughts.

Can anyone fill me in about Chaos navy ships for Chaos Marines? I implemented a Strike Crusier/Battle Barge idea in 1.1.1 but I'm not sure it's accurate fluff-wise. Should Chaos Marines just get the standard chaos navy ship assets?

Actually the Space Marine Strike Cruisers and Battle Barges represent a multitude of vessels which are so similar to each other that they all share the same profile in BFG.
But they are regared all as invented after the Horus Heresy.
So Chaos Space Mariens mainly would use the Chaos ships. Often this are classes which have hangar bays to launch Chaos Thunderhawks (Retaliator Grand Cruiser, Styx Heavy Cruiser, Devastation Cruiser, etc*). But every vessel will do which because allcan be refitted to launch Dreadclaws.
But essentially every ship they have salvaged over the millenias can and will be used by Chaos Space Marines.

* I left out the Despoiler Battleship on intend because fluff states that only 3 and the Terminus Est where built and i don't know if Chaos build more.

Thanks for the info BL. So I could stick with the Battlebarge setup? I don't mind either way as the BB is something different to Frogbear's list, but if it's not correct I can change it.

Personally i prefer something older :D Devastation Class Cruiser for planetfall and Carnage Class Cruiser for orbital bombardment. All my Traitor Legionlists (Word Bearers, Iron Warriors, etc) have this.

OK that's no worries. It's a very simple adjustment if the Chaos fans would prefer it.

Are you interested in playtesting 1.1.1+ at all BL? Have you trialled it already by any chance? Upcoming changes to 1.1.1 -> 1.2 are:

The blood rage when it can be worked out and removal of fearless from the World Eaters-specific formations

Renamed the retinues as warbands

Included a 4-strong Blood Slaughterer pack. They can also be a 2 unit upgrade for a Warband, so that a foot warband can utilise them.

I've also put in the Slaughterfiend formation I mentioned and called it a Blood Pack as I discovered this is what they're supposed to be called. I've also added a unit upgrade for World Eater Champions to be upgraded with a slaughterfiend - reading the fluff about this machine it seems a world eaters champ was first to ride the beast so I thought it would be a nice touch to allow champs to get there own, as it mentions other champs trying to copy Azgarb(sp.?)

I've renamed the Khorne Legionnaires to Khorne Dedicated - I thought it had a nice ring to it and sounded a little more god-specific.

Anyway I hope this new version will impress people enough to trial it at least.

I would be glad to try out the World Eaters but my next known Epic player lives 300km away. My last Epic game i had in March at our annual German Epic Turney.
