The Atlas is the ARV whereas Trojan is the general purpose support vehicle.

This one's for you TRC - My WIP hybrid ARV/CEV ... the arms and plow are from the GZG Engineering pack.  I'll stat it like a L/Russ Rec Veh/Atlas ...  I call her "The Mantis" ... (I know I'm OT again ! )  8v)       My completed Atlas Mk.IIL4 ...   :))                              My G/W long OOP Ltd. Ed. Russ ARV ...

Myw ord, what a loverly kit. I should have a nice engineering regiment after this - my sappers (which I'm thinking of replacing with some WWII combat engineers with flamethrowers), the trojans at home, the 2 or 3 of that old russ I have somewhere, throw in a couple of GZG packs to convert a bunch of hulls and hopefully if some ever appear by magic the otter recovery vehicle.

But if they don't precisely match the plastic, then E&C will be cross at me, and I will cry.

Howwever if they are a bit different and are more generic thats something you could someday sell under your own otter paw print.

Thanks TRC !  And when O-man makes a ARC/CEV ... I'll add that to my inventory too ... :))  The GZG E-Pack gives you the parts to convert about any chassis ...  :agree:  BTW, the multi-barrelled weapon on the top left front of the hull is a CinC 1/285th scale 210mm Nebelwefer ...  Note how small it looks on an Epic (Chimera) hull ...   It is a Lgt. mine thrower/Grenade Launcher on the Mantis ... 8v)

I can appreciate E&Cs desire for standardisation (his Malcafloor and Walking Robots are testament to his excellent reproduction and CAD skills), but I still think there's room in our hearts for a subtly different Chimera hull.

I for one like the 'slab' sides a lot, but perhaps a way to appease the purists would be to have the upper half of the track sides extruded further than the slabs on the lower half of the track side (as on the original Chimera)? The raised bit I mean is facing the camera on the upper track sides as shown here.  This upper bulge could be reproduced in a homage-like way on the Otterware sides.

That way it is an interestingly different take, but still retains the character (and some of the side-on profile?) of the original.  I personally would probably buy a bunch of the current 'slab' design, especially if they're at a better scale/ratio than the current SG/almost gone FW models.

After all, the rules have been taken out of GWs hands by the players, why can't we take a few liberties with the designs as well?

Just my two cents.

EDIT: TRC sort of beat me to it, I concur with his POV.

Explain ?  What is convenience chassis, etc. ?    PM me if you like ... I'm old and easily confused ...  :sulk:  :sigh:  :upside:

It's the replacement for the ForgeWorld Chimera chassis. The Arma enclosure and engineering module (Urn) plug into it.

Ironic that the Urn (Trojan replacement) may reach metal production before the Saltshaker, even though it was started months later.
