Jes Goodwins Epic titans

I'm not sure about the minis being better then but that reaver titan is amazing! Love the old beetle back titans too with their knights helm heads. Not a fan of the newer "boxy" titans as much except for those forgeworld warhounds. Man they are beautif models. I think  I'll go order some right now and..... oh damn it!

That goes for Jes Goodwins Epic titans too just to give you one example. But its very much a matter of taste, and this is of course my very personal opinion...

Yes its in some ways amasing that the Reaver and Phantom are still going strong! They must be the oldest GW models still in army books?

I can't remember which is older, Jes' Titans or the Space Marine Infantry sculpts.

One of those would be the oldest design currently in production.

The sculpts you are thinking of I think came out later - the first ones with the space marine game were the MK6's at 1:285 (I think, they were very small - still I must have a couple of thousand in bags at home, they live on as the troops from the reserve companies), the Reaver and Phantom were out before or shortly after them, then the re-done marine sprue with the MK7's, Assault and Missile launchers that are still in use today (who remembers the Eldar 1st sprue who were designed to snap off at the ankles?).

I'm not thinking of the beakie Marines, I just couldn't remember if Jes' Titans came out before or after the Mk7 Marines.

Pretty certain the Reaver came before the MK7s.

If you mean all game's army books, rather than just epic ones, are any of the original Realm of Chaos Chaos Champions pictured in the current Warhammer Warriors of Chaos army book at all? These may pre-date the Reaver and at least the snake tailed Slaanesh one was in the previous edition of the army book.

Well in AT1 you got 6 original plastic Beetle Titans.  Shortly after that the Reaver, Warhound and Eldar Titans were released. Also the metal Mk.1 Rhinos and Raiders, metal support Infantry weapons for all 3 races, including Dreads were released. Then, maybe in 6 months or so, SM1 was released. With SM1 you got plastic Mk.6 SMs & Mk.1 Raiders & Rhinos. Also released were the ORK and Eldar Box sets. Each with the  "Mk.1" Ork & Eldar Infantry and the Mk.1 Ork Battlewagon and wedge shaped Eldar Mk.1 Falcon.   You can see all these back in WD issues like 107, 109, 110, 116, etc. ... Then after that about 6-8 months later, more or less, the Mk.7 SM sprue, IG, and new Ork Sprue with Warbosses, Nobs, boarboys, etc. were released sequentially ... :D

Thanks L4.

That means that the Reaver Titan and the Eldar Phantom & Warlock Titans are likely the oldest sculpts GW currently produce.

You are welcome E&C !  :D  Yes, the MK.1 Eldar Titan along with the Reaver are real old school ... the Warhound Mk.1 would there too if it was not replaced by the E:A (mo-fo-fugly!) Warhound Mk.2 ... which I had to re-work to make it "usable" ... Another one of G/W's bad Epic decisions ... :glare: 8v)

The Reaver is probably the oldest, because it actually appears on the AT rulebook.

The Reaver has to be oldest as there is the early chunky eldar Phantom (and revenants) and I'm not sure but isn't there two Phantoms that look similar, one with joined legs and one with separate legs.

The Reaver is also the best of it's available versions and probably the best looking of all available Imperial titans (Although I did like the FW Warhounds).

Anyway GW don't like the remotest possibility of someone else getting rights to produce derivative works based in their universe (Someone is given permission to make Epic rules/models and then they allow another party to make a computer game or film etc)
