This is a nice one.
Still not really what I'm looking for.
I guess my thought is towards a Chaos Traitor list around factions.
Ie each formation is marked and got suitable support. But there's also stricter "who is with who". A clearly shown hierarchy of Daemon Prince and Greater Daemon and Champion of Chaos and possible allied contignent.

Something that came up in the Black Legion discussion thread:

Possibly allow attaching the faction-specific Daemon Engines to formations.

So a formation of Khorne Berzerkers could take an attached Brass Scorpion, for example.

Presumably you'd add a 'Daemon Engines' Upgrade option to the Cult Marines.



For the Upgrade option itself, you'd say something like:

Add the following:
- Brass Scorpions (only formations that include Khorne Berzerkers) - 125pts each.
- Blight Drones  (only formations that include Plague Marine) - 50pts each.
- Silver Towers - (only formations that include Thousand Sons) - 75pts each.
- Daemon Knights - (only formations that include Noise Marines) - 75pts each.
- Two Defilers - 125pts per pair.
- Two Desecrators - 125pts per pair.


By the way those are the points costs and units I'd recommend (especially the Deamon Knights instead of the full Scout Titans).

This would also enable you to remove the 'Defiler' and 'Desecrator' Upgrade Options from all formations and replace them with a generic 'Daemon Engines' Upgrade.

Seperate dedicated Daemon Engine formations are also a possibility, ie:

DAEMON ENGINE FORMATION:

Four Defilers - 250pts
Three Brass Scorpions - 375pts
Five Blight Drones - 250pts

etc.

Could be possible But with this the Brass Scorpion sticks out as the only War Engine which would be odd.
But to be honest i really like this thing and it was added as the first god specific daemon war engine in Apocalypse (together with the Plaguereaper) which was the cause why i initially put it in the list (again: the Plaguereaper too).
But with your proposal i would have to remove it and replace it with Khorne Daemon Assault Engines or the Blood Slaughterer for consistencys sake.

For now the Daemon Engine Summoning formation is inspired from the same datasheed found in IA Apocalypse (wothout the option of Daemon War Engines to be added i would have named in Defiler Assault Force).

Nah keep the Brass Scorpion 'cos it's wicked.

If replaced I'd replace it with the Blood Slaughterer (which of course has no model, ho ho).

As i said i like the Brass Scorpion Even the old model is my favourite daemon engine.

Besides in me is growing an interest to make this list more of a conglomerate of different warbands of different Regenade Chapter Chaos Space Marines and some small Traitor Legions contingents under the supreme command of the Red Corsairs. This opens the possivbility not topaint all in the Red and Black of the Red Corsairs but formations or even individual units as members of other Regenade CSM Chapters.

No changes are needed to do that, you just paint your models differently.


Don't do anything to radical that ends up spoiling the tightly-focused 'Red Corsairs / recent renegades' theme, you're trying to get ERC sponsorship for this list.
